Ever thought of putting a tube sealant in your off-road or street bike to help with the elimination of a dreaded puncture.
Today i did just that and the end result might be worth the trouble of spending a few minutes to view this clip.

I'm really surprised the slime affected your steering. I've used that in all my dirt/enduro/street bikes for over 30 years and I've never seen anything detrimental from it. Of course all our ATVs are filled with slime too. I'm sorry you don't like this product. It's been on the market for many years and millions of users swear by it. It looks to me like the wobble was in the road surface. If the slime would cause the wobble, I'd think it would be constant, like any tire that's out of balance (they wobble constantly).

i think the product slime is fine and does the job but i think their instructions are a let down. maybe 4oz per tyre would have been the better option. saying that it did fix the leak issue

did an update and it did actually seal the slow leak. balance wise i'd say too much in the tube following the specs on the container. dumping 8oz in the tube was an over-kill and i think 4 oz would have solved the out of balance issue. if i get the chance and seeing i have a bit of the stuff in stock-like a full bottle...lol - if he situation arises i may try 4oz to see if that is the key to a successful ending

I can't say that I have had much luck with Slime. I used it on my 1997 BMW Funduro. It picked up a nail and I inserted an entire bottle of Slime in the tube, but it all leaked out of the nail hole within three miles. I ended up riding the 10 miles home on a completely flat tire, which somehow never came off of the wheel rim. Two years ago I picked up a nail in the tubeless rear tire of my Zero. The Slime sealed the hole for about 300 miles before it started leaking out of the tire through the very small hole. I then installed a motorcycle tire plug in the hole and it almost immediately was thrown out of the tire, quickly resulting in a flat. It turned out that Slime makes a very good lubricant. So I finally repaired the tire by carefully cleaning the nail hole with alcohol and inserting a Stop and Go tire plug in the hole. That has lasted for 2K miles so far with no more air leakage than when the tire was new. I haven't noticed any odd behavior in my rear tire which still has lots of slime coating the inside of the tire. I am not looking forward to changing the tire, but at least the product is supposed to be water soluble, so cleanup shouldn't be too bad.

its possible i put too much in and threw it off balance. hard call really. instructions said 8oz per wheel and i followed those. 4oz maybe would have cured that issue. plus it appears my rear tube was pinched too. i now have a slime trail down the side of it too. so i guess it sealed it too...lol

Hey Warro, I feel for the little cub! You’re wringing it’s neck out!😂😉. For back-up, I’d go with a spare set of tubes in your rear case for your planned adventure trip as my mates & I experienced a puncture out near Innamincka. It took us a while to break the bead, & we used the side stand to help us, but if you have a good set of tyre levers, it’s better than being stuck & dealing with slime🤔🤣. Also, just use the small co2 bottles & valve fitting or your nifty little pump plugged in to a 12v socket 😉👌

maybe! next clip i removed the tube and ran back to the stock tyre. the slime is far easier to get in the tube than out. pretty thick gooey mess...lol now back to the stock front tyre and bike running fine. i would use it as an emergeny fix but not put in 8oz and say try 4oz. more importantly - it does appear to workand seals punctures. just a bad call following the instructions and i say use 4oz not the 8 oz as intructed by the supplier.far too much all the best

8 oz works fine in a 120/17 or 90/21, but on the CT, nahh, you're right, 4 oz is more than enough on those small tyres. I have run slime for years, never had a balance issue, or a puncture. At least its water soluble too so you can still patch a tyre or tube thats had it fitted. if theres too much in there, valve at top, remove, then rotate till valve is at bottom and drain some out, or, valve at bottom, remove and get covered in it, always good fun to watch someone do that.

Years ago approx 1990 I used the stuff they put in a aerosol can to seal a puncture in a tubed rear tyre on a Z650 Kawasaki. It got me home, 140 miles.I decided to leave it in the tyre & see how things rolled,after a few months I was getting vibrations from the rear wheel,I think it eventually threw the wheel balance out.The inner tube still stayed inflated until I decided to swap the tube.I have that slime in the tubeless tyres on my Street Triple,no adverse effects so far,maybe try draining some out of the tube & see if the wobble stops?

My experience with Green Slime products pertained to some bicycle inner tubes they make. My wife rides mini ponies in carts called Hyper Bikes. The Slime tubes came already in the tires. After only a couple rides they failed due to some pretty small sandspurs going through the tires and barely touching the tubes. The only thing the slime did was show me where the holes in the tubes were. In my opinion they sucked and just made a mess. I ended up swapping them out for a thicker tube and also installed tube liners. Never had another flat. I know product results may vary depending on the job, but I think this stuff is good for quick fixes not a permanent repair. If it throws your wheel off balance I would get a new tube before it makes your tire wear uneven. Just me 2 cents mate.

Good video warro..4oz should be plenty for small diameter tires. I use it in tubeless ATV tires with good results. Using 4oz. Even on the larger tires. Have problems with thorns in my riding areas. I've put it in my kid's smaller dirt bikes too. 14" and 16" tube tires. 4oz. In them as well no balance issues. Just messy if removing tire from rim's. But good no flat insurance!

@@ridewithwarro yep alot easier to put in than taking out for sure...When you mount a tire air the tube up a bit so it's round but not tight in the tire. put talcum powder or baby powder all over the tube it will help tool slide off and not pinch the tube. Old trick from back in the 70s ..I changed the 15wt oil that came with the YSS front fork kit. It was slow rebounding and stiff. I ride some rough territory sometimes. I put some silcolene pro RSF 5w. 120cc It was really great on the highway and small bumps but bottomed on deeper holes. I changed it to maxima 7wt 120cc still smooth but still bottoms out too easily. I changed it to maxima 10wt 120cc it works great. Rebound is faster than the 15wt. Smooth on small bumps and don't bottom so easily. I'm a heavy rider at 260lbs. Set static sag at 1inch. Sag is about 2inches sitting on bike, that puts me mid suspention travel. Next rear shocks those stock ones are really bad. Went over a small log in the woods and it bounced me up off the seat. Forks handled it good. Cheers

@keithtrent4446

@@ridewithwarro I think most tubes here come 250/300 so they fit more than one size. I've crammed a 400 size tube in a 300 size tire in a have to ride situation before and alot of powder to make it slick so I wouldn't pinch it. A smaller size should expand enough when size numbers are close. I wouldn't go extreme.
