It's worth noting that you HAVE TO install the camshaft locator pins BEFORE you tighten the cam sprocket down and torque it! I just learned the hard way! The pins will not go in unless you lift up a bit on each side of the camshaft!

I have a stage 2 camshaft will it affect anything at all by not installing the pin and spring because it was not one in at all when i dissembled my top end to replace the head gasket? And at the time i dont have access to any assembly lube can i use fresh motor oil instead and because i had to replace one valve i when head and replace the other valves as well and even though i am reusing my old head i used fresh motor oil for the valves installing too was that wrong?

@@sandyoxendine3257 Aftermarket cams don't have a decompression mechanism on them so it would actually be worse to install the pin and spring because it would just fall out cause damage inside the motor. Assembly lube is only needed if you plan on taking a long time to complete the rebuild or if the engine will sit for a period of time before starting. Engine oil is perfectly fine.

I forgot to remove my spark plug when I would disassembling my top end but when I would put it back together I already had it shot top dead so do it matter when I put the top of the head back on that my spark plug is already installed even though I already have my engine and piston shot at top dead center? Please help??

@@sandyoxendine3257 you can remove your spark plug anytime you want. No, it does not matter if your spark plug is already installed when you put the head back on. I would remove the spark plug though if you need to rotate the motor for any reason after you get the head on.

Why did you install the spring and plunger? I thought you only needed it for the decompression system on the stock cam.

When I put the bolt on the top of the engine that connects to the frame I got the bolt all the way through to the other side then saw it didn't line up with the whole quite right and just had to push it a bit to get it to line up. Is that normal?

I'd recommend your local dealership. If you happen to be in Utah, we have dealerships in Helper and St. George. As far as cost goes, you'll have to talk to someone in the service department.

Could be a number of reasons did you check to make sure you have the right amount of oil cause they have oil sensors that won't allow the motor to run if its to low. Or a bad gasket could make an air leak that would also have a part. If your piston ring isn't set right that would do it. On my 1980 honda 400cc motorcycle I have completely torn apart today I had it given to me cause the previous owners gave up on it I got it running with jumper cables an my car but it would bog an have no compression when I took off the jumpers it would stall I would kick start it an it would run for few seconds and stall so I took the head off and noticed oil all over the inside of the head of my motor so if I figure out whats wrong with it ill leave some suggestions on what to look for but yea im also open to ideas I'm pretty sure its a gasket or piston ring thats allowing the oil to pass through

Check the simple things first like spark and fuel. Since you followed this video you might have adjusted the valves wrong or timed the engine wrong. Make sure that every part of these 3 part videos are correct!

For a new cam chain on these u have to remove the clutch cover clutch and the top end just to replace a chain

The cam chain doesn’t wear out fast at all

That cam chain looked amazing, cam chains are a pain to replace when you are only doing a top end. There would be no reason at all to replace that chain unless it was stretched or broken which it is obviously neither.
