Nice to see you again, Andrew. My VFR is going to hibernate starting tomorrow, so she will be ready and eager to ride again in the spring. Kudos to you for tensioning your chain yourself, I had it done last year.

Nice job done, just have to say that there is no need to replace tensioners on VFR, You can readjust them to factory setting, there is a video on YT about it. And hole on gasket can be drilled to about 3-4mm for better oil supply. All parts on that bike are made to last the life of the engine which is....long :) Even rubber parts last for 25+ years on that bike. This Honda is a very well made bike, V4 engine is the "Last of the Mohicans" , brilliant engine made to last. They don't make engines like that any more.

First thanks for watching. I've seen videos of people taking these tensioners apart. . The bike has served me so well over the six years I've had the bike . New tensioners cost me around £60 each from Japan including the gasket. Why bother with dismantling old 20 year old tensioners when new ones are so cheap. I did increase the size of my gasket hole. It's in the video. Thanks for your support.

@andrewonmyway8184 You have a point there. I just always fix things that can be fixed instead of buying new parts. I make less garbage, much more sustainable. Money is not an issue here. Anyway....good job and thanks for sharing 👍

Hi Andrew thank you for the educational video. Just bought one of these bikes. Changed the r/r and cabling to battery Love this engine . I have always fancied a VFR but finally I have taken the plunge. New battery, painted the black clutch cover, new clutch slave cylinder and clutch line. Big clean all over. Going to lower the footrests as my 78 year old back and knees do not appreciate the geometry. Looking at changing bars to help with that as well. By the way did you learn your English in London, or are you an English EXPORT?? Happy 2025. Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul. Born and bred in London my friend but I’ve been here a while now. Nice you got yourself a VFR at last! Sounds like you have done a fair bit of work already. Hi¡ , i realized ...aven't you placed the metal cap on the new tensioner? Apparently, at least for the lower tensioner, you install it without that part.

Thanks for watching my vid. . I can assure the bottom cap was on there. They both come with new metal caps and they sit quite well but I've heard others have lost caps so I just wanted to point it out. Thanks for your support!

@@andrewonmyway8184 I reused the metal cap because it has almost no wear, but it was a different part code and didn’t come with the new tensioner. I’m not sure if you made a video cut, but right here, 13:46 you’re going to install and it doesn’t have the cap.
