I have 2 bigger brothers of the VFR400, the VFR800 (01 and 09) but always wanted a 400, just as a play bike. For some reason, not a bike Honda sold here in the USA but there have been a few grey market ones that I found. Getting them registered for street use, is the big challenge. As for what you're dealing with, definitely piqued my interest. Just dealt with the throttle bodies on one of my VFRs yesterday, had a few air box screws that screw into the TB that were very stubborn, but what you're showing there definitely looks to be 10 times the chore I had. Looking forward to the next video.

If you put carb parts into a dish washer afterwards you get the same dullish shine afterwards. Did you dismantle and re-plate the carb butterfly return springs shafts Jim. To repair smaller broken parts we use silver solder 660, it is more than strong enough to secure tiny parts like the choke lever ends. When you are re-plating small srews you can use tiny neomagnets on the end of hooked rods and then add the bottom end of the screw to the magent. The ultrasonic cleaner is what companies use for cleaning off flux reisdue after soldering upPCB's

I’m just taking apart a 1984 VF750F and the carbs are reasonable, just fell apart when I took them off the bike, and I’m really only giving them the ultrasonic clean, which is doing nicely, but I can’t seem to get hold of decent rebuild kits, just basic float bowl gaskets, and screws, float needle valves, not much else available. Do you find that issue with much older machines ? Great video, look forward to seeing how these turn out. Good to have a real mechanic do a how to once in a while, so many home gamers out there, it’s hard to know what’s right and wrong.

Have you tried liquid wrench penetration fluid? I find it really good.

Bro, Great video as usual ❤. side topic: Rectifier regulator question. 1. Can I use a different bike rectifier regulator for a Gilera scooter as long as it's 3phase n the input/output matches? 2. Do u think made in china rectifier regulators sold cheaply can do the job still Tq bro ❤

How much cost a complete rebuild of these vfr400 carbs?

Audio is left channel only, hopefully you can resolve this for the rest of the series. Listening on headphones is almost as horrible as this carb. Cheers

That's really strange 🤔 it was exported as stereo. Thanks for the heads up, I'll investigate 👍

What about dilute muriatic acid for the carbs? I know it would eat them eventually but short term I think it's a option?

You can also use many dish washer fluids.

I also use GT85 after being disappointed by WD40. Ironically, The makers of WD40 manufacture GT85 😊
