Those are not phillips screws at 9:30, they are JIS screws and will strip out very easily if using a normal phillips.

Hey bud, great video and very informative as always, just one thing I wanted to suggest adding in. I've seen this on other bikes as well and ruined a case because of it one time. When you go to remove the shift shaft, sometimes if you look at the side where the shift lever bolts on, you will see grooves cut into it from the chain being too loose and rubbing. This causes a burr to pop up and it needs to be ground down before pushing the shaft out and through the cases the opposite way. If you don't notice is and force it, it will damage that honed hole the shifter rests in.

I looked over that hole over and over because it was so damn tight getting it out and back in, was sure there had to be a burr, but there was not one. I'm sure that shaft is slightly bent but I dont believe it should have been that hard to get out/in lol

@@Hunters_Mechanics yes they are almost always bent as well, I had to heat mine up and try to bend it back with a hammer while being held in a vice.

Know it sounds crazy but i used a sharp hatchet to help separate instead of a screwdriver. However i used a razorblade to start the separation and when their was enough room i used the hatchet. Had to be careful not to go to deep with the hatchet.

I have a xr100 that has a busted left engine case. Do you know what years work with each other? I think it came off a 90s bike because of the plastics, but the frame was junk so I just used the bigger wheels and suspension on a xr80 that I completely rebuilt the engine and carb on, and threw the frame away because it was broken as well. I'm not sure which years are interchangeable with each other. Now I'm wanting to find another xr80 or 100 frame and rebuild the xr100 motor and put a big bore kit in. And have two bikes.

You can go to partzilla and look and the crank cases and when you open them, it will tell you what years they fit. Like for mine, I have a 2003 so I navigated to the crankcase, section selected the L side and on the page it will tell you what other years it fits: www.partzilla.com/product/honda/11200-KN4-761?ref=9be7eb8fad179a7c12a527d074f8b3e5d1e7c825

Did you make the engine stand? Can you show me how it works and I'll build my own.
