have had a 640s for a couple years now. Would have to look back on the App for the number of cooks but wouldn't be surprised if it was well over 200 and same experience; zero issues. Love this thing

Batween my Dad and I, we have owned 15 plus pellet grills. Dad bought a ys640s beginning of last summer. BEST one out there. We argue who gets to run it when I come home to visit. 😂 Ultimately, it's just great cooking with Dad on it. That thing is awesome. I will have one soon!

Got the YS640 abit over a year ago. Was considering getting one for a while and your first comparison put it over the top for me. Never a moment of regret. Year, it’s fairly expensive but I truly believe it will be the last pellet smoker I’ll ever own. Initially I was just smoking with it. But now I’m doing so many more things with it. So versatile.

I've now owned the YS640S for a little more than a year! I completely agree with everything you have said!! I owned 2 Traeger pellet grills and thought I had the ultimate cooking machines until I bought the Yoder! NO comparison NO way! Great honest review and thoughts! Thank you for the review and your service!

Good to see you on the KZbin again ole buddy. Thanks for the review. When and if one of you Traegers lay down on me I’m definitely gonna consider a Yoder. Truly Made in America goes along with in my book 👍🇺🇸

Great review Sandy. I too had a 640 with the old controller and it was an absolute cooking machine. Oh yeah it weighed 480lbs. Took 5 of us to get it on my porch. Oh yeah have a YS1500 on the way now.

People would share their BBQ with me they made on their Traegers. I would thank them and give them an obligatory; "it was good". But it wasn't, it tasted like it was baked in the oven. This is why I stayed away from pellet smokers and kept using my offset smoker for years. However, I liked the idea of not having to work so hard to cook sometimes. I did my homework, I bought the Yoder YS640S . Great investment!!! I'm almost sad to say how much in flavor it compares to an offset. I've had mine over a year, and everything Jus' Piddlin shared with you is the gospel truth.

Great video. I've had mine for about a year and a half and I've loved it. Don't use it enough honestly. What you might try for that leaking issue around the smokestack is get a cheap silicone/rubber bracelet (like the Livestrong kind) and put that on the end of the exhaust pipe where it fits into the main body of the smoker. That will help eliminate drips, but I will tell you that it's important to get in there every once in a while and wipe away that liquid since it will collect a little. Depends on whether you have your smoker on a gradient too.

I had the Traeger Timberline XL smoker and talk about junk i spent more time talking to there customer service than I did smoking. i finely got rid of it and bought a new yoder ys640s and i agree there's nothing on the market even close to this smoker. I to say a person can't go wrong with this smoker amazing and a good investment in the long run...keep up with your videos I truly enjoy them and appreciate your time making them.

Fireboard only does the food probes and app. The controller software is all Yoder Smokers. I thought they were running Fireboards software too, but they set me straight. I think Fireboard builds the controllers for Yoder in KC. So even the electronics are as American made as they can be.

I've had mine for over 4 years now. I replaced a Rectec that I had for 7 years. It was a very good grill but the Yoder is a great grill/smoker in comparison. The only issue I have had, if you could call it an issue, is some rust. A quick brush and some touch up paint and issue solved. YODER is the was to go.

I have the same grill, same had plenty of pellet grills in the past. Everyone is saying the lonestar grillz pellet grills are the way to go. I just don’t know. They seem very similar in build except for the cabinet model. Both USA grills. Both good. Both running FireBoard. I dunno. My buddy has the lonestar cabinet and I will say it smokes the whole time no matter what temp it’s set to. Both amazing smokers. Lonestar grillz are thicker and completely made in the USA as well.

I’ve owned many pellet grills too and I’ve owned a Yoder YS640S. Have you ever tried to set your temperature from 275 degrees to 150 degrees to hold your meat after it reaches a certain internal temperature? I sold my YS640S because the “smart controller” on this smoker is not smart enough to reduce the temperature from 275 to 150 to hold meats after they are done. I tried this and there was a flame out. I would encourage you to try this while smoking pork ribs or a pork butt (cheaper cuts). I called Yoder customer service and they made excuses, they did not own the problem, and they saw it after accessing the controller’s history. I now own a Smokin’ Brothers pellet smoker and I did this same test, and the smoker went from 275-160, no issues whatsoever and I’ve tried this numerous times and the SB is much less expensive than the Yoder.
@JusPiddlinBBQ25 күн бұрын
Just to verify...are you wanting to go to 150 or 160?? You said 150 for yoder and 160 for smokin brothers. I would say 150 degrees is asking a bit much for any pellet grill. I have a Cambro that I hold meats in after the cook. It's easy and doesn't burn pellets.
@Two_Bit_Smoke25 күн бұрын
@, basically, I did the step program on the Yoder’s ACS Controller and I set the last step to go down to the lowest temp (I think it was 150) once the IT reached 200 on a pork butt. The Yoder’s ACS controller could not handle that without flaming out and the Smokin’ Brothers pellet smoker could handle it. The only difference is the SB does not have step program capabilities, but the SB controller is far superior IMO because it is actually smart and can handle anything I throw at it. I only held the meat in the smoker if I wasn’t home to transfer the meat to the oven or a cooler.
@Two_Bit_Smoke25 күн бұрын
You should try doing this and see what happens. The Yoder is far superior to any Chinese made product, but it has its flaws like any other pellet smoker.

I’m another user. I have had to call SUPPORT twice, however, this was for interpretations and experience review, not because there was an issue. It should be noted how responsive their support is. Leave a voicemail and you’ll probably get a call back in about two hours. The tech will be totally dedicated to resolving your issue.
