I’m a SONE & I wouldn’t recommend “the boys” for anyone who would ask me for suggestions, yes the boys is legendary in its own time & it achieved so many things ,but it’s not a song I would listen to very often + snsd is one of these groups you shouldn’t judge by one song because they’re SO VERSATILE its crazy songs I would recommend for non sone: run devil run Mr mr Genie catch me if you can lion heart

Hi Aaron I can understand that you don't like "old music" kinda vibes because it's the same for me, but SNSD has a special place in my heart since it was the first group that I stan (along with SuJu) but growing up I'm now more interested by NCT and Red Velvet haha. BUT you really really should react to : - I got a boy (it's like their anthem, they made so many achievements with this one) - Mr. Mr. (vocals here omggg) - Gee (it's a cute song, Taeyeon HATES that song but it's their most famous one, EVERY girlsgroup did a cover of it) - Genie (it's an old but GOLD song, still one of my favorite and I live for Taeyeon's vocals there) - All night (one of SONEs favorite, it's one of their most recent comeback) - Lil touch (most recent comeback, it's a sub-unit but the song is very catchy you might like it) - Their japanese tracks are ALL very good & iconic even though I think maybe you will not like it - TTS : a sub-unit made of Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun the three main vocals, they deliver vocals in all their songs! The Boys is one of the most legendary KPOP girl group's concept ever. SNSD also reached a new height when they released The Boys as the album eventually became the best-selling KPOP album in 2011. Can you imagine, SNSD a girl group, beat out all the other singers including boy groups and they managed to become the best-selling artist that year? Something that happened only once in KPOP's history when SNSD grabbed the grand prize for album of the year at Golden Disc Award and Seoul Music Award and they're still the only girl group that had ever achieved that. SNSD's influence back was so iconic and even till this day, their brand is still very popular among general public.

Anyways, I recommend their Into the New World, Holiday, Run Devil Run, Mr Mr, and Lion Heart. Their ballads are pretty so hope you can check them out too

I'm glad you were honest :) Girls Generation made history precisely by breaking different standards and inspiring other Girlgroups to do the same. When you listen to music from previous generations of kpop, especially Girls Generation, you should keep in mind that everything is experimental. What is successful today and very polished, in the past it was completely risky, a long shot... and that is exactly why it sounds so different. I hope you continue to know the legacy of GG anyways. They are the definition of LEGENDS. For the song The Boys, I wanna said you just had to be there. After all those years, this is still a legendary for me. Every comeback Girls’ Generation proved that they are caller NGG, Legends and Queens for a reason. GG is one of the groups that screams versatility. GG has songs that really can’t get you the first time, but it will grow on you. Their video quality is always ahead of their time indeed. They are the trendsetters of kpop. I remember when this comeback was announced, all other artists moved back their comeback date because they don’t stand a chance competing. It was a legendary and most high budgeted video of that time. You can’t judge SNSD from only one song because they’re very versatile and experimental. 😄 But whatever they do becomes a hit. So for current reactors i understand if they dont like it cause they’ve heard many evolutions of songs impoved (actually inspired by them) so this sounds average. But it was very mindblowing and exceeding expectations at that time. 😁

I remember when they were performing The Boys on a late night show and also on a morning show, I think, here in the US (can’t remember how many shows they did out here promoting The Boys). It was so exciting for me witnessing all that in early 2012. Hey Aaron, whenever you want to react to something else other than red velvet a mess series, there’s these episodes called “Bu:Quest of Red Velvet” there’s 8 of them in total, around 16 min long each and don’t worry you won’t get blocked if you react to them on KZbin, also these episodes are the most recent content we’ve had from the girls so Wendy isn’t there but they still mention her whenever they can (it gets emotional towards the last episode), and I think there’s a lot of episodes of red velvet in idol room or weekly idol on KZbin you can react to too:D Ps. If I remember correctly they originally planned to use another track on the album for the title track. The song, Trick, is a cult fave and unfortunately, we have never gotten a live performance but it is such a bop. So please do consider checking it out. I'm not sure about your musical tastes Aaron but I hope you will check out more of SNSD since they have many great songs. A few recommendations: Trick (obviously) Karma Butterfly (this was performed live and it is very good in fact there is a debate whether SNSD's Japanese releases are better) You aholic Bump it Chain Reaction (watch it live) Paparazzi Flower Power Galaxy Supernova Time Machine Indestructible Stay Girls Blue Jeans and much much more.
