The Honest Government Ads just turned FIVE years old! To mark this special occasion, I asked Ellen and Zoë to make a special birthday video - and I’m proud to share it with you all today. This is their work; their writing and quirky humour; and most importantly, their voices! A great part of the Honest Government Ads' success is due to these two legends so I thought it would be fitting to let them loose on the Juice Media. I hope you enjoy it, and make sure to watch to the end for the credits section which features many of our friends, Patrons, collaborators and contributors over the years. (This is my absolute favourite bit) Thanks to everyone who made it possible for us to create this fully independent, no-bullshit political satire series: all the experts, activist, thinkers and friends who generously shared their knowledge and helped me write the best possible content; all the researchers; animators and computer-problem solvers; legal advisors; translators; encouragers and providers of emotional support: we could not have come this far without your collective contribution. But most of all, thanks to the collective support of our Patrons which is what truly keeps The Juice Media independent from outside influence and financially self-sustaining. That's why this video is dedicated to you, our Patrons. It’s been an honour and a privilege to impersonate shit governments and bullshit policies; and with your continued support we look forward to slaying shitfuckery for at least another 5 years. 💛 Giordano & team EDIT: Can we please take a moment to thank Ellen for editing this mammoth epic video over so many late nights - you're such a trooper Ellen thank you for seeing this through and putting so much care into it!

If possible, can I get a response the the points I raised on your video 'RAP NEWS | Israel v Palestine - feat. DAM & Norman Finkelstein'? I've added the points I raised below for your convenience (I've given this version some slight improvements, hence the differences between it and the original). - Starting with #Nakba is a clear sign that you're going to be taking an honest and unbiased side with this. - 0:53 Have war crimes been committed? I'm not an expert. But what I do know is that Israel is a nation constantly under attack with civilian areas being targeted (that is a war crime, BTW), necessitation the development of the Iron Done system. Also, despite the number of innocent Israeli civilians murdered by Palestinian and other attacks goes far beyond what I'd do to warn people that an air strike is coming. And we also need to take a look at why civilians are collateral damage (Hamas placing military targets in civilian areas) (Share on Twitter Open more share options Breadcrumb Trail Links NP Comment Terry Glavin: By using human shields, Hamas doubles down on its war crimes, National Post), (Does Hamas use civilians as human shields?, Channel 4), (Israel Warns Gaza Targets by Phone and Leaflet, New York Times). - 1:24 Yes... After the Arabs rejected a peace plan. - 1:36 If the Palestinians wanted to have more of Israel, maybe they shouldn't have rejected the UN proposed partition plan. - 1:42 And now you've veered from leaving out details to flat out making stuff up. You flat out ignore the Arab aggression that happened and make it about claiming territory and not stuff like Egypt closing the Straits of Tiran (something they knew would cause a war as it was one of the reasons for the Israeli participation in the Suez Crisis) as well as generally tried to do anything it could to start a fight. - 1:53 Ah yes... The UN. Clearly known as a bastion of unbiased truth and not an organisation with a record of targeting Israel over everyone else. - 2:05 Argumentum ad Hitlerum. Your caricature of Netanyahu (who you created) made the fallacy of calling someone a Nazi in an attempt to shut the debate. And considering you made this video, you've just made that fallacy. - 2:13 Hamas. A organisation Canada, the EU, US, Japan and Israel call a terrorist organisation. Further, Australia, New Zealand, Paraguay and the UK call it's military wing a terrorist organisation (just saying). - 2:19 The statement that Hamas is open to peace is straight out false. The Hamas that rejected a peace plan in 2003 (and said "Abu Mazen is betraying the Palestinian people's struggle and jihad in order to appease the USA and to avoid angering Israel"). Or the Hamas that has article 33 of their charter titled "Rejection of a Negotiated Peace Settlement:". Your video showing Israel attacking Hamas as they try and engage in peace is blatantly false (not surprising). - 2:53 thejuicemedia. Ignoring Palestinian war crimes since April 25 2014. - 2:59 thejuicemedia. Ignoring Palestinian suicide bombers since April 25 2014. - 3:04 thejuicemedia. Ignoring Palestinian rocket attacks since April 25 2014. Stage 2 went to Stage 3 because the *Arabs*, *not* the *Israelis* rejected a proposal of splitting the land. Stage 1 also ignores that much of that land is a mostly uninhabited desert. - 3:22 The weaponry comes as part of the aid. Your no strings attached statement is blatantly false (Big US military aid package to Israel has strings attached, CNBC) (Some Israelis Say Strings Attached To U.S. Aid Aren't Worth the Money, WSJ). - 4:00 Argumentum ad Hitlerum. - 4:19 Not true. - *4:27** thejuicemedia. Condemning values of freedom of speech, democracy, human rights... How ironic.* - 5:00 Ignoring that many of the Israelis move to the settlements for such internationally illegal reasons as good quality houses, the environment, good schools, hospitals and parks... - 6:00 B&F Let's just ignore the rocket attacks that are launched from Gaza, shall we? - 6:30 Ah yes, let's just support a movement designed to cripple the Israel for the crime of being attacked and then retaliating. Also notice how they lumped together all forms of Judaism and Zionism. - 7:00 There would have been peace in Israel in 1948 if it wasn't for the Arabs. Or peace after 1967 if it wasn't for the Arabs. Or in 2003 if it wasn't for Hamas. Noticing a pattern? - 7:45 What is a crime are the attacks on Israel - but mentioning those wouldn't help their narrative, would it? And here's some points you've missed: *[Criticisms of what they missed, specifically focussed around 1948].* - Israel supported the UN proposed partition plan in 1948. The Arabs did not. Israel won. Now the Arabs are complaining about unfair treatment (go figure). - Jamal al-Husayni (unofficial Palestinian delegate to the UN from 1947 to 1948) said “The blood will flow like rivers in the Middle East" (he was talking about Israeli blood). A second being Iraqi PM Nuri al-Sid saying “We will smash our country with our guns and obliterate every place the Jews seek shelter in”. He also told UK ambassadors to the UN if the resolution was not “satisfactory”, “severe measures should be taken against all Jews in Arab countries”. - That Jamal al-Husayni (unofficial Palestinian delegate to the UN from 1947 to 1948) said "..."The representative of the Jewish Agency told us yesterday that they were not the attackers, that the Arabs had begun fighting. We did not deny this. We told the whole world we were going to fight". - That Assam Pasha (Secretary of the Arab League) on the 15th of May 1948 said "This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades). - That Salim Joubran, an Arab citizen talking about Israel on US television on February 1962 said "The Arab High Command asked us to leave the country for two weeks to make the battle easier for them. They told us: 'A cannon cannot differentiate between a Jew and an Arab. Leave the country for two weeks and you will come back victorious...' I heard the Haganah microphone asking the Arabs to remain and live peacefully with their Jewish brethren. The late Jewish Mayor of Haifa also asked us to go back to our homes. The Histradut, our trade union, was distributing leaflets asking the Arabs to come back. I still have that leaflet". *[Back to regular criticisms].* - That Israel is the only country in the Middle East ranked as free (as per Freedom House). The next most free is Lebanon (43/100 - Partially Free) and Kuwait (37/100 - Partially free). The Gaza Strip (the West Bank isn't categorised by Freedom House) has a score of 11/100 (Not Free). - That Israel it is a liberal democracy with free and fair elections, that it has an independent judiciary, rule of law, freedom of the press, freedom of speech and assembly, religious freedom, rights for minority groups, rights for women and LGBTQI+ people... - That Israel is routinely targeted in the UN (and that states like Algeria, Cuba, China, Iraq, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen and Zimbabwe have neen let off Scott Free. - That since it's creation Israel has been a nation that has been under constant siege. - That in 1967, the Khartum Conference produced three nos. Khartum Conference July 1967: No Peace. No Negotiations. No Recognition. (I.e. the Arab side hasn't be incredibly receptive to peace). - Every single suicide bombing, rocket attack or other terror attack on both Israeli soldiers and civilians. - Would you condemn the Israeli reactions if your children went to a school that may be attacked with rockets? But then again, actually mentioning those things would hurt your position so it makes sense why they weren't mentioned. And here I was thinking it was the right-wing that was the side full of intellectually dishonest hacks. Now, is Israel perfect? No. Not by any stretch of the word. It has many flaws. But the other side has a lot more and those flaws aren't being covered, ergo my comment.

This is what freedom should allow. The people the ability to criticize their officials. It has become a disturbing trend lately in how interested so called freedom democratic governments have in controlling the flow of information online. We are on a thin line now with the big online corporations like Google, Facebook, etc being pressured by the US government to obey their wishes. Like what if one day, they manipulate the algorithm where videos like this end up having a hard time getting views? It will be a society where the citizens can no longer encourage the leaders to work for them. It will be exactly the same as a dictatorship nation.

@@HiroProtaganist Like, yes, but also, why else do it this way? Did two people decide they want to do this thing (bottom up), and decide neither had the voice for the best of the impact they wanted to go for... which, still, judgment, if self... or did a group realise they want to do this, and assign and/or cast based on these factors (top down)... which is basically what's being criticised here. (Like, unless we go with the case that among themselves it has been determined that looks play a factor in this, having Lucy do voice for 2 other people, instead of just, you know, speaking normally for herself and doing voice for 1 other person, i.e. introducing a whole lot of extra steps, what else is there? At the end, when patreons were saying short lines, I wanted to cry with joy whenever I heard someone without an Aussie accent speaking. I love that non-Australians care enough about our country to make a financial contribution and actually take notice of what is happening down here. God bless them for thinking of us. Our political parties are just so out of touch with people's opinions. The Australia I grew up in was egalitarian and cared about supporting us. What kind of Government wastes over $100m on a crappy postal vote when it's already well known that nearly 80% of the country supported same-sex marriage? How far from everyday Australians must the Liberal party be to even think that was a good idea?

The whole word is a fucking shitshow right now the dutch government have spend a 5.2 billion euro's and they have no clue whats happened with it or where it went to.
