I'm 21 now, chose not to go to college and learned a skill instead. I've been a successful insurance agent since I was 18, purchased my own BMW at 18 & now I'm laughing at all the ppl that doubted me! Get your money! Success is the sweetest revenge! SaloneDutchess I honestly didn't get that vibe from her. I think she was encouraging ppl to follow their dreams. No she didn't go to college but she still had to exercise perseverance and discipline. Why would somebody pay Sally Mae thousands of dollars just to say they accomplished something? On another note I do believe children today are looking for a "come up" trying to be internet famous. I think education is awesome, and having that piece of paper can open up doors. I also do believe once you find your niche in life you still have to work hard to become successful regardless

She's right . College always isn't for everyone now if she sat here and ranted "you can do whatever without a high school diploma" then I would highly disagree. So many people think you can't be successful without it , yes knowledge is power but sometimes the field you choose doesn't require a college education. That's why we have trade schools. I know for me I hated school I was always in the beauty field so I decided to go to cosmetology school. I Graduated now and work at one of the best salons in my state , I also freelance and starting my own business and I'm established and stable not working from paycheck to paycheck . Society pushed this idea that the only form of educational achievement is college , wrong . Follow your dreams and you can be successful in whatever you do .

Cathy Marie I think her message was more so along the lines of "Go after your dreams, no matter what." A lot of times people are discouraged from going after their dreams simply b/c it doesn't include higher education or working in corporate America. I'm a recent college grad, and although I agree that higher education is beneficial on so many levels, it's not the only path to success. My old high school classmate is now the makeup artist for Marjorie Harvey and other celebrities, and she travels all over the world and she's only 21. Granted, success is a subjective thing, but I think Aaliyah is saying that you can be successful without attending college.

I respect you for telling the truth about not planning on going to school. Many people would say "oh yeah I will down the line" or whatever else kinda excuses they make for not doing it now. School really isn't for everyone; true. Education is definitely important but people spend time and money and come out with no clue as to what to do next with a piece of paper that indicates that you completed something. In your position I'd run with it and make it work for me as long as I can which is obviously what you're doing. Keep going sis but think outside of KZbin too. KZbin isn't the same anymore and it's quickly changing. The possibly of gaining success is so much harder now. Don't give up but try to find other ways to get yourself out there. Pay attention to trends and what's gaining popularity . Utilize Snapchat and Instagram stories. Etc. Research what's the fastest growing social media today and dominate that market. KZbin alone just won't do it anymore. Best of luck!
