Really like the video and content--thanks for sharing. As a North American (of German descent), married to an Asian lady, I can appreciate the cultural differences and interests. Perhaps it's just me, but I welcome candid opinions and perspectives. Germany and Singapore are two of my favorite countries to visit for many reasons. You're an adorable couple... best of luck!

I've been waiting for this for a long time. :) Overall, it was very interesting.
@jessandseb10403 жыл бұрын
Danke!

To admit faults and apologize for them so You can get over it and start fresh and new is not only part of german culture but probably also rooted in the christian culture in europe where its about confessing sins and getting forgiveness by God. So even if most germans are not very religious any more today, that concept of admitting mistakes is still part of the culture, also in school and work, so mistakes can be corrected and won't cause bigger problems in the long run. Here in germany we also have no cultural concept of "loosing face" like in asia.

sorry ruted in the christian culture. Like the churtch admitting they have done something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly i think its a "new" thing in europe and its only a few hundred years old.

Interesting view! I don't know, but I guess confessing was part of our ancestors lives. Also being responsible for two world wars, I guess we have learned to be sorry ;) but ultimately it took me personally some time to grow and admit to mistakes...

Wondering how she could a visa without getting married!! By the way she can show her feelings in a such beautiful way!!!
@jessandseb10403 жыл бұрын
The good thing is Germany has many kinds of visas, such as the work visa. Which Jess currently holds, it's not permanent, but usually gets "re-approved" as long as you still have your job and Made no trouble with the authorities :)

Parent's reaction to foreign partner: I am a (German) father of two girls about your age. My wife never liked the idea of them having a foreign partner. The reason is simple: She did not want them to live on the other side of the world once they settled. Current situation: Mission accomplished. One boyfriend is Austrian, the other of Italian descent, both living and working in Germany. So it is not the other side of the world :-)

@@jessandseb1040 i guess we did that differently then. i moved to the US and my wife is american, my sister moved to Switzerland, and her husband is Portuguese. it is more difficult especially now with covid, i can't see my parents easily, or my now 100-year-old grandmother. still moving abroad is a unique opportunity in so many ways. where you move is probably not even that important. I always thought i'd move to spain or italy, instead i moved to Atlanta :)
