This song lyrics were written by chen, I remember, and don’t quote me on this, he said in vlive or the showcase for this album that he wrote the lyrics late at night seeing the moonlight from the window when he got inspired to write about the moon falling in love with this girl, he only exist in her dream (aka the night) and she forgets him in the morning (when the sunrises and moon disappear) so she’s dreaming is from the moon’s point of view

I really love the story of this song. In this song, the narrator is the moon. The moon loves a girl so it comes to the girl every night with a dream. Even though the moon meets the girl through dream, the girl forgets when she wakes up so the moon feels so sad but it stills comes to the girl and say that it loves her. I'm so proud that Chen wrote this lyric.

Chen literally couldn't sleep one night because he had so many ideas on his mind, he walked around his room so much that he woke up Xiumin lol, pencil in hand. Neither of them went to sleep until Chen finished writing the lyrics. 😂

About the members that are not in this song: xiumin (you can say it like shiumin because his stage name is Chinese though he is korean), sehun(the second main rapper), and lay(the only Chinese member in exo). If this song is a drama piece, the genre would be romance-fantasy.. It's a really dreamy song and the lyrics were so poetic and beautiful. Chen wrote the lyrics btw. Loving a girl but could not approach her so he only dared to appear in her dreams when the night came but when the night was over, just like a normal dream, all the things that they did together in her dream were end up being forgotten by that girl. He's the only one who remembered her...

the lyrics are written by chen, who wrote this song from the perspective of the moon which falls in love with a girl. the moon appears only at night, bringing with it wonderful dreams and joy. but these will be forgotten by the woman as soon as the night falls away and the sun rises. "you're asleep in me" because the woman is asleep when the moon is out, but he cant help but smile just looking at her sleep like an innocent child. it's just another night filled with dreams and moonlight for the girl, but it meant so much more for the moon. if you go back and listen to it with this in mind, it will make perfect sense. jongdae is an amazing lyricist. the dreamy aura of this song makes it one of the best songs on this album and in exo's discography. p.s., xiumin, lay, kai and sehun aren't in this song. we dont know why, but it was probably suggested by the producer/company that these particular members sing it because it fits their vocal colors perfectly, without making it too varied with everyone's voices (since it's a very laid back song). im not too sure tho, i think it wouldve sounded wonderful either way.
