"kun" is supposed to be used by older people to refer to younger people, but here Shotaro says Yuta-kun to him to show closeness I suppose, because sometimes he says senpai that is used for more respect to someone of higher rank educational or work. I guess Yuta allowed him to call him "Yuta-kun" to be more closer.

Actually it could be to both. Usually you use "kun" to refer to older people, but sometimes it's used to refer to younger people as well. Shotaro refering to Yuta "kun" might mean that they're actually not that close yet, because usually you don't call older people with just their names.

I recommend "nct dream's translator being the real g (again)" One fact about us, we don't stan 7 dream members. We stan 8 including our jiejie interpreter from their huya(pubg). Yes "Chinese" has many dialects. In general when people say Chinese, they usually mean "Mandarin" since that' is the official language and the one used the most. "Cantonese" I believe technically isn't a dialect but it's kind of treated like one, it's like the 2nd most common language of "Chinese". Though it's only really spoken in Guangzhou region of China (where XiaoJun is from), Hong Kong (Lucas), and Macau (Hendery). Though I think even with Cantonese, there's slight variations depending on location. But for the most part, when people say "Chinese", they mean "Mandarin" 99% of the time. when artists record a chinese version of a song, it's in Mandarin since that's the language that would reach the most Chinese audience.

my cantonese speaking friends have told me it's considered its own language (wikipedia says so too but they're my primary source lol) i guess some people say it's a dialect because they use the same writing system, but that would be like saying for example that any language using the latin alphabet are dialects of latin

I´ve noticed in a few videos that you sometimes repeat "Dejun" and sometimes "Xiaojun" when he appears and to clear that up: It´s the same person. His full name is Xiao De-Jun but his stagename is "Xiaojun". In this video it was at 19:21 where Chenle used his real name (surname+name) and you didn´t see the subtitle that just listed his stagename "Xiaojun".

Taeyong being the supportive leader that he is and be learning stuff in all their languages is just too heart-warming 🤧 I think he speaks japanese with Shotaro so he'll understand the questions and what he says right away, so he can focus on what to answer in Korean instead of having to first translate AND speak. I think just bc Shotaro may be struggling a lil when it's a lot of talking and/or it goes "faster". (If so then it's completely understandable, I mean new languages are hard as hell to learn) I also mix languages (and accents) in sentences but it's more like a language sallad for me. Got my main 2 ingredients and then sum toppings sprinkled in there.🥗 Btw about "Yuta-kun". "Kun" is a honorific title you can say after a person's name in Japan. You've probably heard about "-san", (like Yuta-san) "San" is more 'formal' however. "Kun" is used informal when you're more homie with someone. (Between dudes I believe) Girls will more likely be called with "chan" or "san", but not "kun". That's my understanding of it, please correct me if I'm wrong.
