The group is disbanded now though, and the members were added into various groups under their agencies or debuted as solo artists. Somi isn't part of a group though. She's a solo artist and this is her debut song. She's also 18 (19 in Korean age)

Jeon Somi was born in March 9, 2001 in Ontario, Canada. She was born to Korean mother, Jeon Sun-hee, and Dutch-Canadian father, Matthew Douma . Her family moved to South Korea a year after she was born. Due to her mixed descent, Somi was often bullied during her childhood days. Hey Aron.. I love your reaction.. This is her debut song as a solo artist but she was a member of ioi in 2016 which was formed by a survival show "produce 101". Its a show where 101 girls come from different companies and compete with eachother.... In the end only 11 girls are selected to form a group. Jeon somi was selected as number 1 with the most votes. The group continued their promotion only to be disbanded after a year(well thats how the procedure works for the groups which are formed) after the disbandment, the girls go back to their respective companies to continue their self promotion...

Thank you thank you for taking your time and energy in watching and reacting to Somi! We have waited so long for her to debut. She first came on the scene in Twice audition show called sixteen. She didn't make it because she was too young and still needed training. If you don't know twice has become a huge success. Then she auditioned for a show called produce 101 and she won 1st place and she became part of mega group: ioi. However, that group disbanded cause it was only a temporary group for the show. After that she went back to jyp and did various shows and other temporary groups like slam dunk unnie and girls next door. Forever, being in limbo never finding a true home. Then, right when we thought she was going to debut with JYP new girl group Itzy we hear she has left the agency and gone to Theblacklabel which is under YG entertainment(Big Bang, 2ne1, and Black Pink under the same agency) We as fans have waited so long struggling to see her debut over the years. Back in 2015 Somi was under JYP (the company that formed Twice). She participated on the show ‘Sixteen’ which is where 16 female jyp trainees fought to get into the group Twice. She didn’t make the group as JYP said she was too young (only 14). A few months later in late 2015 she went on the first ever season of Produce 101. This was when 101 girls from different companies competed to get into a temporary 11 member group. Somi won first place and became the groups most popular member as well as one of the most known idols. Unfortunately IOI disbanded after 9 months in January 2017. Produce 101 is also the show to form Wanna one and IZ*ONE. After they disbanded Somi did some modelling and went on a few variety shows before leaving JYP in 2018 and finally debuting under the black label. Some facts about Somi: •She was born March 9th 2001 •She’s mixed race (her father is white Dutch-Canadian and mother Korean). •Her actual name is Ennik Somi Douma •She’s pretty tall (170cm at the minimum). •She’s best friends with Twice’s Chaeyoung and Wanna Ones Daehwi (the cutest friendship ever). •The b-side for this single was co composed and wrote by her. She legit is the nicest and coolest girl and she deserves to finally debut. she has gone through a lot to finally debut. Didn’t make it for twice, after becoming the center of ioi they had to desband early and then she was part of the unnies where she debuted again( in a way) and for a teenager I feel like she must be the strongest and most determined girl ever because she never gave up.
