That makes her solo debut "I" much more meaningful. The hate she received back then was too much, especially during 2014 (when a member left from snsd and the dating thing which was both pinned on her). Add this to her self doubts, the loneliness that she talks about. It was really tough. In the music video for "I", she was struggling as a waitress. I think it represents her during those dark times, but at the end of the MV, she found her more "free" self, like she let go of all those hurtful things that she experienced before and moved on to heal. It's a statement, a promise to herself and her fans. And when I say all Sones cried when "I" was released, whew. We couldn't be prouder of her. She's one of the strongest people that I know and I admire her a lot. I only hope for her better days. ❤️

Even before 2014, I think she was already suffering from depression. During IGAB era, she mentioned that she often felt lonely. The members would often "joke" that Taeyeon would stay in her room all day, she wouldn't go out. Those are clear signs of depression. She wasn't as active and cheerful on tv programs, she didn't smile as brightly. I think she only started to heal around 2019. That was a great year for her. She seemed much happier. And it was in 2019 that she openly talked about suffering from depression for the first time.

During early SNSD days, Taeyeon once cried because the staffs are eating on the floor while them (members of snsd) are eating on a table.... Taeyeon's voice is what made me stan her, but her character is what made me stayed all throughout these 15years.... She has the purest of purest of hearts.... She is just so precious... Taeyeon has been through many hard situations, from lost very close friends like Sulli and Jonghyun, her father on her birthday, to the point of having to apologize for falling in love, yeah Taeyeon had to apologize just for falling in love since at that time (2014) her relationship with Baekhyun was confirmed. There was an incident in a performance in which Girls Generation were invited a crazy guy practically almost kidnapped her while she was on stage, Tae bravely returned to the stage and ended as if nothing had happened but later she confessed that she was so scared that as soon as they returned to the backstage she cried, there are many more things but my comment would be very long. The Taeyeon we see today was very different from the Taeyeon back then. I can completely justify this because I’ve been a fan for about 10 years. Being her fan is like being on an emotional rollercoaster. Taeyeon started off fairly happy but then 2014 hit really bad with her relationship with Baekhyun and Jessica leaving SNSD, totally flipped her life upside down. Fans attacked her left and right, blaming everything on her and she was very depressed. As a fact, her best songs like “I” and “Fine” came out at the time when she still was depressed/lonely. Only recently, I can see the old Taeyeon coming back. She’s been very happy now that she’s a fixed member on Amazing Saturday and she’s been getting a lot of content out especially with her new album (btw is straight fire). Taeyeon as a leader is also interesting because she’s not ur typical leader we see within groups. Most times she doesn’t take initiative, in fact she even said she wanted to stop being a leader. She also believes she wasn’t fit to be a leader in the first place. However, in my opinion she’s one of the best leaders in Kpop history because she takes care of the members very well behind the camera and actions speak bigger than words. And I’m pretty sure she’s missed the times when SNSD were promoting together than being solo. Taeyeon is a diamond, she’s so strong, very few can handle what she’s been through in her life

@@whatno.6007 I don’t completely agree with what u said cuz Tiffany only somewhat lead because she along with Jessica are the only ones who spoke English. She’s mostly in charge in their English department. I remember that one show where SNSD members had to speak English and they were all like “we need Tiffany”. I think earlier Taeyeon was into her leader role and then somewhere it dropped cuz she felt that they didn’t need one. Her mentality is more like everyone work together, not one person lead everything. But her mentality was not strong back then as it is to now. Now she even introduces herself as SNSD’s leader. Also I don’t think SNSD members ever question her position. More so, they aided her when she needed help the most. Also her solo I believe it nothing for her as a leader, it just cemented her as a very solid soloist. Just my opinion though.

I've seen a shift around 2019. She started becoming much more happy and more at peace around that time. And thank goodness because in 2020 her father passed away on her birthday and I can't imagine how much more pain she would have felt if she wasn't in a good headspace back then. These days she seems so happy and it is honestly so reassuring to all her fans. She has a lot of support from her fans, she has been making new friends lately and she seems to have a really good relationship with her staff and more. More importantly, she seems very self-assured and at peace.

She has been battling depression and very open about it, she went through a lot. Hates, dating rumors, passing of her closest friends and colleague and her dad. I was honestly very concern of her in those times. But she is the strongest, she promised at her concert back in 2017, that she will sing for a long long time and that she won't go far away by our side. It was a reassurance to all the fans that were so worried back then. These days, she has been doing very well, by the help of fans, her family, SNSD members, Zero her dog, her love for music. I can say she already conquered it and she doing variety again is a very big step, she has been happier ever since. She has become livelier, she even performed on music shows again and now doing something new with MCing Queendom. She is expressing more and I'm living for it, as a fan I'm the happiest when she has happiness.

Yea if you looked at Taeyeon before 2014, she was more happier, playful, and bright. She was cast on alot of shows and she was having a great time. Around 2014 you notice a change, she had lots of hate and pressure around this time and it affected her. While the other members were still doing their Solo activities, she didnt want them and started to hide. She only appeared publicly if SNSD or TTS members were there with her. She was the leader by name but she always admitted she was not fit to be "leader" because she was the oldest, due to her personality, and someone like Tiffany or Hyoyeon would have been better. The burden was getting to her. She said that SNSD was her family and could only express her real herself around them. She was afraid of moving on as a Solo Artist. SNSD members was that of an emotional support for her. She claimed before she wouldnt know who she would really be or where she would be if SNSD members were not there with her. They became more than Family or Sisters to her, I think mentally SNSD were "other pieces or fragments of her". She expressed that SNSD members were her everything, in 2015. Around 2017, it was mentioned that Taeyeon became a recluse and stayed at home every day. I personally think she always yearned to stay as a group member after SNSD, which is why she joined GOT. For Taeyeon, having people around her helps get rid of the burden and loneliness. Im glad that in the last few years, she is starting to get past this. She looks more confident doing Amazing Saturday, and being a Solo Artist.

In 2014-2015 Jessica left the Group and she also dated Baekhyun of EXO, her junior, and she got alot of hate and blame for it all. People accused her of being the one to drive Jessica out. This started her phase of Depression. In 2015 during SNSDs reality show. In a scene, Taeyeon sat and was asked What did SNSD mean to her? And she tearfully expressed that the thought of losing SNSD members is the most devestating thing for her, she wanted to be with SNSD forever. Some people thought she meant that in a general sense, that SNSD disbanding in the future scared her. But others believe it was a nod to Jessica who left SNSD a year prior. And that it showed how hurt she really was when Jessica left, while the Fans were attacking Taeyeon and saying she hated Jessica and she was the reason Jessica left. SNSD was her soul, Taeyeon couldn't give that up.

it's not a good idea, i'm almost sure aaron is gonna dislike it bc he usually dislikes ballads like this and the topic is pretty sensitive. his style of reactions (very analytical) doesn't fit such meaningful and sad songs like this. the lyrics also aren't his priority. everyone just will be disappointed and angry at him, what's the point

Poor baby struggled with depression basically her whole career , she was like the punching bag for all the hate SNSD got and was blamed for every little thing that happened because she was the leader , and she just had to endure it cause " she's soshi , and she can't complain " !! It got worse after her and Baekhyun dated , she was witch hunted for months we LITERALLY feared for her mental health and safety !! Everytime something bad related to her happens I get so scared she might hurt herself !! So strong yet so fragile .... our little baby must be protected 🥺🥺🥺

SONE here since 2008. These girls hold a special place for us sones who have been there with them through thick and thin. They have such a beautiful bond together. As for the departure of Jessica, we will probably never know what happened. And I will never blame any of them. I support all 9 members. They were a big part of our lives. i don't even get WHY she got any of the hate... i was a sone and an EXO-L and i just couldn't get it. All the issues did not make any sense to me, and i don't know why she became the target. AS IF TAENG WOULD KICK A FRIEND OUT T_T also, i don't think any of this was a hidden side. she's been very vocal about her feelings and the change in her was very apparent to anyone who watched her continuously on tv. she was very bubbly and ahjumma-ish from debut, and then she suffered from depression and closed herself off a bit more. Some of the members understood her better i guess, but there are of course some friends who have a harder time adjusting to a friend who is going through stuff.
