Love your work! I want an all tube bass amp. Is the orange ad 200,b better built? Any recommendations?

Thanks for the audio upgrade.

Cup washers are a must. Given the slightly "budget" build of the cab, it should be possible to see the edges of the box joints inside.

Nice review and good sounding MAZ 18 - have the same amp. May be good to compare to Mather Cabs and Newell Amps - I had Newell make a 2x12 combo cab for my 65 Bandmaster and the workmanship was great and less than the prices quoted here. A 12-pack of washers from Mojotone is $2.46? Ridiculous they're not on there. Also guessing the circle of tolex on the back is from the speaker jack cutout - but why glue it on there?

The high end from the Dr z when the bridge pickup is used here is teeth shatteringly harsh

I prefer to use machine screws and inserts on the cabs I have purchased from Mojotone. I get them from MacMaster-Carr along with a neat little tool which makes installing the inserts a breeze. I agree that cup washers are needed.

I did some searching online and found a cabinet builder in New Hampshire named Tom Metzger, trmguitarcabinets.com, who makes nice-looking dove-tail joined cabinets, at reasonable base prices for unfinished, stain-grade white pine (he recommends a simple DIY tung- oil finish), plus a few cab styles that he'll cover in Tolex if you prefer. He also has some less expensive baltic-birch plywood cabs. Very reasonable fixed-shipping costs as well.

I don't understand the screws, they definitely need dress washers...
