Yuuki has always been one of my favourite characters in anime. The mothers rosario arc imo was the best sao arc. Was nice to see a character with an actual goal and actual development who gave something towards the story. The way she went out was incredibly sad, and she also made Asuna be more than just a typical girl in a harem

Asuna's mother is definitely wrong because she's learned nothing from the Sugou incident. If it weren't for Kirito, Asuna would probably be suicidal at this point, between her family trying to force her to marry men she can't stand, the pressure from her mother to be just like her, and the discrimination shown to SAO survivors. What Asuna asks isn't unreasonable, and considering that Asuna's been working on replicating Aincrad food in the real world, she has restauranteur as a career option. This also isn't the first time we've seen Kirito's detective skills. While he is prone to letting his emotions get the better of him, when he takes the time to think about a mystery, he tends to notice some detail others have missed. It's how he solved Griselda's murder, figured out Heathcliff was Kayaba, solved the Death Gun incident, and eventually solves a murder and a kidnapping in the Underworld.

I miss Yuuki that is all. Also some of her quotes saved my life twice cuz I was quite suicidal when i younger in middle school and high school. I’ll drop a Yuuki Quote here “It’s okay to live, even if there’s no greater point to living.” And I just post another one to. “If they don’t like me, that’s fine doesn’t change the fact I was close to their hearts.” I really hope at some point in the SAO Gameverse video games Yuuki gets her own spin off and she’s the main characters and it has the rest of the Sleeping Knights in it and also possibly Yuuki’s Deceased Sister Aiko Konno if the game takes place before Yuuki met Asuna.

Oh wow... I thought you were gonna skip the two filler arcs forever, but I guess this is proof that we can't escape fate, you made a noble sacrifice. I have to correct you on two things though: Kirito does meet Asuna's Mom (around the end credits of sao movie if memory serves...). If u played the game series (which feature an alternate story-line after Aincrad arc), you'd find that if Yuuki was not hampered by the doomsday disease, would have become part of the harem holding position of the third little sister-figure. She is also a persistent challenger to Kirito because she introduced herself as a secret boss he couldn't afford to hold back against in the 1st game (convoluted story behind that don't ask...😓).

It was precisely because she had AIDS that she won. She's had more full-dive experience than even the SAO survivors and a resolve to leave a mark on the world before she dies. Kirito even judged that had she been in SAO, she would've gotten the Dual Wielding skill instead of him, and considering she'd be playing SAO with nothing to lose, that's not an exaggeration.

Their mother got a contaminated blood transfusion while giving birth to them in May and didn't find out she was infected until September. I'm in the minority but I HATED Mother's Rosario! I was like, what is this melodrama doing in my SAO? And call me a sexist but this was so a girl's-only arc. That sad piano music was so manipulative too. I resented every episode but the last three most of all. And what was with all the peace signs? There were more peace signs flashed in these two arcs than at Woodstock! And seriously, Kirito let Yuki win. What's he gonna do, beat a dying girl? He knew her plight all along (because he's just so cool!). I rated Calibur a 7 and Mother's Rosario a dismal 2, though the first few battle eps were good.

What this arc showed me is that SAO writers *can* make a good plot but they decided not to until the GGO arc and that's obnoxious. I wish they'd have actually made a good season 1 :(

@@mysmallnoman season 1 in its entirety was a heap of a dumpster fire tbh. Once they sidelined Asuna, the most generic and underdeveloped character, it got so much better. I won’t even rewatch season 1 because it’s just wayyyy too generic and boring. SAO had a great premise but Kirito being damn near unbeatable by anything made it really anti-climactic. I dont mind a never-gonna-lose protag, but at least make it interesting. MMOs are a numbers game as Kirito says. They gave him such high numbers it was boring GGO showed Kirito out of his element without his contrived overpowered stats. He was still better but it felt more believable. Alicization was more fair and interesting. He didn’t have ridiculously OP stats and he had to simply “git good” to survive. It’s definitely not the worst I’ve seen, but it is definitely average or slightly below average at best for the first season at least. GGO was season 2 and that was good but it’s not as good to me as Alicization

I’ll try to speak in super simple terms for you here 2) theres only really 4 times where he almost actually dies. Getting poisoned in SAO, fighting the boss in SAO, fighting Final Boss of SAO and almost getting poisoned in GGO. All of them contrived and lazy, especially the Final Boss bc thats where the series should have truly ended. He died and according to the rules that were already established, he died in the real world immediately. They forgot their own world building in favor of making more money. 😂 it’s very forced and unnatural. It’s AWFUL writing, objectively. Denying that would show you lack critical thinking, which would call into question your entire “argument”, if it could be called such. It’s okay to call out shit writing in a show you like. I LOVE SAO season 2 onwards. It was actually written well, and even if S1 was good to some people, it was still written much better than s1. 3) not really lol you continue to prove that your English comprehension is subpar. Compare Asuna to Sinon for example. Sinon is given a cohesive and meaningful backstory, Sinon is given agency in the plot. When has Asuna ever been anything but a “damsel in distress” archetype? When has she been given a cohesive and meaningful backstory? Hell, ALICE is much more fleshed out than Asuna could ever hope to be as a character. It’s not that Asuna is bad, she’s just simply incomplete. She has no motivations, no goals outside of Kirito. If you take away Kirito, Alice and Sinon hold up. Their characters arent relying on him to be seen as good characters. However, for Asuna, the same cannot be said. Take away Kirito, and her character is just another generic background character with no motivations. My main issue with Asuna is that she is very poorly written . Seeing poor writing doesnt mean i have a “hate boner” (i got my dick cut off, no boners for me anymore thanks), it means I’m able to rationally see when something is missing from a character. Your second point was valid but the others are just hogwash. You’re trying to defend poor writing but considering you skipped those English classes, it makes sense that you would not be able to identify good writing since that’s something you learn in English class. 😏
