Hey, Caleb. I want to tell you that you’ve helped change my life. This video was randomly recommended to me at the beginning of this year, which has led to me to start my reselling journey. I’ve made enough sales to build the confidence in starting my own business, so thank you. I just shipped my first quick flips batch today (don’t ding me too hard on my potential defects).

We’ve replaced the filter maybe 5 times total, and we’ve ran tens of thousands of discs over the time we’ve had it. Definitely don’t need to replace it unless it has a hole or rip. Just wash it when you wash out the pitcher. We also use some rubber cement on the GameCube adapter to hold the discs. Forget those little circular stickers, they suck anyway lol

Good review! We use 2 of these at work to clean/polish discs before selling them too, and on average go through about 300-500 discs a day, so about 200 per machine. The machines have been there for at years at this point and only have had to have a few minor repairs (springs breaking, etc.) aside from the regular cleaning. One recommendation that I learned after using them for a while: Try discs on Clean/Polish before going to Very Light for the settings and see what works for what levels of scratches. We were wasting a lot of time and supplies running things on Very Light and Light before realizing most discs only needed Clean/Polish to get them back in nice shape.

$3.50 - $6 is crazy expensive for 1 sanding pad normally a pack of 10 costs that much sometimes even packs of 50 if you catch a sale. Will one of these fix a disc that you took a lets say a razer blade too? I mean as long as the top doesn't get damaged right?

For what it's worth you can repair GameCube discs in this, it's just a bit fiddly. You simply start a job with a regular CD/DVd, but once it's loaded onto the platen (you'll see a little white arrow appear on the screen underneath the pad setting you're on) you pause the job and load in the GameCube disc (in adaptor). The results are great but having to babysit the machine isn't. Took one of my staff members almost two hours to get through a dozen discs this way.
@brainbug8032 ай бұрын
Why? You can use without any problems the GameCube adaptor and start a normal CD/DVD repair. There is no extra work you have do to. If you have 10 adaptors you can put all 10 and they will be done like normal DVDs. The only problem is that you have to stick the discs with any other double faced tape because the original ones quickly no longer stick and over time the adapters become rounded and sanded down on the outer edge. But you can lower the sanding pressure for GameCube Discs.
@Sposchy2 ай бұрын
@@brainbug803 It might be because of the age of our machine, but the vacuum pressure isn't strong enough to pick up a GameCube disc in the adapter. It drops them before the arms can grab.

What setting on the ECO autosmart is best for gamecube games? I know gamecube and dreamcast have sensitive data and high failure ratess. Nice video!
@p0ck3tp3ar6 ай бұрын
Yellow pad + gamecube game attachment. Setting 1: Polish = fill in some scratches and beautify the disc. Setting 2: Sanding = Does a good job on the majority of discs and has a low risk of ruining them Setting 3: Sanding = Does a great job cosmetically but might ruin the disc. In most cases it's fine. Setting 4: Sanding = Makes nearly any disc mint but will brick some of them. Not recommended.

Consider reusing the pads after the recommended 50 cycles. I currently run autosmarts and these pads will typically last 3x-4x that cycle. Once the discs start showing swirls from repair is when it’s time to replace. Also that solution d is 🚮. Been running regular tap water only for years with same results. Hope this helps anyone :)
@retronextdoor6 ай бұрын
I second this, idk where they got 50 from, sometimes I’ll neglect ordering a pad and will use it for way more than 50 cycles and the cd will still come out looking great
@kenl23676 ай бұрын
You will brick your machine faster if you use the pads 3x the recommended
@RazzleDazL6 ай бұрын
@@kenl2367 false. I’ve had my unit for about 5 years with no issues. These machines are workhorses. A slightly more worn pad isn’t bricking a machine. It’s literally what they’re designed for.
@kenl23676 ай бұрын
@@RazzleDazL you can cheap out now on replacing the pads or not using distilled water. Eventually the damages will acumulate and the machine will be bricked. They're well made but not abuse proof.
@p0ck3tp3ar6 ай бұрын
My experience with the pads is: Black Pad: 500+ (standard 250) Yellow Pad: 45-75 Green Pad: 50-75 Red Pad: 50-75 Swirl marks happen and don't look great, so once they appear I switch pads one by one until it looks good. I toss the yellow, green, and red pads when done. I have tried cleaning them with water and dish detergent but once the grit is gone they basically just ineffectively sand discs. The yellow pad is the most important one to not get greedy with as it is the final prep before polish (black pad). Using water instead of solution seems odd to me but to be honest, I don't really know what solution D does. I do know that when using the yellow pad (DVD/CD) there is much more water used. When using the black pad there is more polish used.

I have an Autosmart. I have considered getting a Master and may in the future. I assume a batch of 50 would have to be in the same tier of repair settings? (Example: 50 discs on setting 2 or setting 4). The reason I ask is because setting 4 on the Autosmart does sand more of the discs down so being able to to choose on a per disc basis is quite useful.
@philscreengames6 ай бұрын
You can set a batch to run at different tiers, ie. 20 at light, 10 medium, 5 heavy, etc. Personally, I’ve never done it and find it easier to just run batches of similar quality discs.
Do you ever run the 50 disc one overnight? That way 50 discs are ready at the start of each day and you don't have to endure the noise.
@boofarama6 ай бұрын
I have an ECO Master, and I usually will scout out 50 games to run overnight in addition to running it during the day.
@brainbug8032 ай бұрын
Sure, you can use it over night. But if an error occurs, for whatever reason, the device stops exactly where it is. If at this moment the pump is running to lift a CD, that is rather bad for the lifetime. I monitor it with a camera and use Alexa to turn off the power from home if necessary. Mine is one room away, both doors closed, so I can't hear it at work. In the same room its realy stressful and loud. When I've bigger customer orders, I try to process them as quickly as possible, then it also runs at night. The risk of something not working is not high.

How much distilled water do you go through on the autosmart? I think it might be faster if you bought 2 more autosmart bc some disc need to go through the machine more than once and with the master. You cant quality control as well. Plus you can do 3 gc disc at once

I got 4 Autosmarts all stacked up side by side all though Eco master is hands free. I can do around 300 discs by the time my Eco master finishes one cycle. I rather just pick one day and grind on discs rather than do 50 at a time. Just preference I guess idk I also hate taking 50 out of all there cases then when it’s finished have to match each disc with its case. I really want the Eco super does 250 discs per batch but that’s like 100k lol

If I remember correctly Chase was the first to upgrade to the 50 discs version and in his videos he have only good things to say, of course the same issues as you describes about costs! I remember his problem with GC was the costs of 50 pcs. Disc ‘holder’ for GC Discs…. The price you mention in the video will have an extra $800 cost! An extra 10% increase in price! If you can find them cheaper if buying 50 and maybe you don’t need to make 50 pcs of GC at a time! I remember chase ddi after his 50000 discs purchase a couple of years back! Rick bought the same model when he took over the shop, I guess his guys can help you with som of the troubleshooting, I don’t think Rick is of much help there, being a technical maroon in many fields! I guess you already spoken to them tho! If I remember correctly chase kept the single disc version too….
