In the gameplay trailer, one of the ghost sims (they were red and hugging a blue ghost sim at the ghost support meeting) had a moth inside them. Is that the new symbol for dying of old age?? I can’t get answers anywhere! Reddit didn’t even know!

@@samg461a i think i know what you're talking about, but that's not from the pack, it's from the base game update. When your sim passes away from something, that something is shown when they became a ghost. Since I don't really know how to explain that, the easy way is to go into cas and choose a reason the sim has died, if you choose for example by fire, the ghost sim is going to be surrounded by flames, if you choose by meteorite, inside the ghost you will see a meteorite and etc...

I think it’s a perfect little touch. Children would see benevolent ghosties as imaginary friends. This whole pack is making me want to do actual storytelling playing. I almost exclusively build, but now I’m itching to play and explore.

I kinda feel like the ghost scepticism would work better if only some sims were able to actually SEE ghosts. There's a mod for this called Ghastly Ghosts that makes only infants, toddlers and children being able to see ghosts as default, and adult sims need to get a special reward trait or they get to see them only during specific holidays if you set the "Lifted Veil" tradition for them. And ghosts actually get excited when you try to talk to them, they're like "Wait, you can see me!?"

Yea I have been annoyed by how "normal" ghosts are. Some times it can be fun to see them pop out once in a while, but when I keep being called almost every day by my ghost mother that she wants me to visit AND, because of neighbor stories, she randomly adopts me step siblings that's annoying.

Yeah, this is a great mod. I've always disliked how mundane and boring ghosts (and other occults for that matter) are in the game. So as soon as I read about Ghastly Ghosts I wanted to add it to my game. It makes ghosts much less annoying because they no longer intrude on your living sims conversations and it makes much more sense for your sims to react with fear to objects moving on their own. I am looking forward to the new pack, but I'll probably keep using Ghastly Ghosts (assuming it gets updated to work with this pack).

@higglety230 from what I've read it seems like the creator is planning on updating it around what the new pack has but it's still going to be base game compatible only. They have a graveyard mod too that might be obsolete after the pack so they might not work on it anymore though.

i know it might seem like a strange feature, but i did appreciate that you could hire mourners. it is common in my culture because there are so many preparations family and friends need to take care of, that they simply do not have time to mourn the deceased, which is why they hire someone who can mourn their loved one

I think many of the content creators are not liking that the windows are worn. But I think it’s because Romania is an old country. Some of the buildings there have stood for centuries I think, so maybe that’s why the windows are not fully new looking in any swatch. They wanted to retain the Old World style even when something looks to have been refurbished maybe. It does lend itself to the "haunted" theme of the pack. I haven’t quite finished the video so maybe Simsie brought that up but if not, there ya go 😊

I was playing yestarday, my sim is a paranormal investigator spellcaster and she's friend with Grim. There was an option to ask to join the Department of Death. He said "There's no available spots but I like your moxie." So I guess one could join the career through that interaction. I think it's cool if that's the case for storytelling purposes.

So I've also recently been playing with the paranormal pack, and that option popped up for me to when I was going through the weekly rewards thing whatever. Apparently that option has always been there for paranormal investigators and Grim has always said no. It would def be cool if it's a way to sign up with the new pack vs via the computer or phone.

Something that i think is really needed from this pack ironically: make ghosts more hidden. Like whats the point of my sims mourning if all they have to do is press "summon ghost" to see their mom again, not to mention I had my ghost father call me to let me know he adopted a kid because of the neighbor story option lmao. Make them invisible and only people in the medium or something careee able to communicate with them. Make summinging need some magic items. Also for this whole "rebirth", let me play an elderly mad scientist hunting ingredients/materials to make himself a new shell to inhabit...having limitations some times is good

It’s not a surprise you felt the Goth family would fit into this pack, they are a parody of the Addams Family, and this pack is all about what the Addams Family loves: We have a macabre theme, a haunted house in ruins that looks very rich, a career that involves writing horror books…. I trust Plumbella and Steph0Sims more tbh. Kayla has been questionable about some packs in the past. Like trying to find good things in Wedding Stories - which actively no one should have bought, as it was disgustingly broken. Same with the school packs that were and still are very icky or her whole demeanour when it comes to Kits, that are just Microtransations. As the biggest creator for the game, she should be more vocal, especially as she on many occasions had contact with the Sims team, that should give her more power. I mean she literally pushed for changes through her shell challenge campaign, which ultimately led to specific changes and even her getting acknowledged by being the default name for the Cowplants.

Looking at the CAS, I'm just so happy that there' at least one skirt/dress that fits masculine frame sims. Fingers crossed all of the clothes work on both frames also. Also as a CAS player, I'm so excited for this pack in general, the clothes are GORGEOUS.

I had zero interest in this pack initially but I'm really coming around to it. I really like that it's an original idea instead of just remaking previous Sims packs in TS4. It feels tongue in cheek, it incorporates lore and the aesthetic is pretty fun even though it kinda overlaps with some other packs a little imo. I feel like they really went for something and that excites me. I'm really excited to see how this works in gameplay with other packs installed over a longer period of time.

i love how customisable the funerals are. i have a friend from romania and over there they do often hire mourners to weep at funerals! although my friend has always said she found it quite uncomfortable, it's great to have all these options

Its one small thing that is lovely, but I still kinda wish they focused on more rites and options (especially if they added Green Funerals, which would have been good thing to advertise or like maybe river funerals for cultural factor), instead of adding that gross woo-hoo literally on people's graves inside the crypt. Like that's totally Wicked-Whims/Extreme Violence mods type of thing and actually really grosses me out to think that this is now in the game and can actively happen spontaneously. Likely won't be putting any crypts around, even if I was kinda hyped to explore the rabbit hole in it and to have a bigger grave storage in the game.

Death is a pivotal part of the Romanticism after all, hence the beautiful vintage playground items and the fancy eyeglasses. Looks like I have to renovate Bella's kitchen again. Which reminds me, what we really need is a guide on which furniture of which pack are which décor style. I've never played an interior designer, but the preferences haunt me every time in CAS. @@willnaib ok im SO glad you mentioned this cuz as silly as it sounds i was so anxious to have my sims befriend Nyon and get to the know the son of death, but when kayla said he didnt have the trait, birthmark, or the relationship with grim, it genuinely made me really disappointed. but then i saw your comment and it made me go back to the livestream myself and you are totally right! in the livestream he DOES have the birthmark which means they DID intend for it to be his actual story and not just a piece of lore in his bio. if thats the case them im hoping it was just a bug in kaylas version of the game, and that he will have the trait and have grim listed as his dad in the full release! nervous subject is too iconic to be done dirty like that lol.

@@Bridenbrad it’s not silly at all! in fact i only remembered it myself because nervous subject is my favorite sim in the entire franchise so every second from the livestream where nyon was on screen was burned into my memory XD hopefully it’s not bugged on release… it would be a quick fix on pc (just use mc command center to set the grim reaper as his father and use a cheat to equip the grimborn trait) but i think people on console would have a harder time fixing it.

I’m so excited they added more ✨adult content✨ to the sims in this pack. Previous Sims games seemed way more adult/raunchy (vibrating heart bed, the stripper cage, etc.) 😂 Sims 4 has seemed way more “family friendly” and watered down, which I have actually hated, majority of sims players are adults!

I know, right? Isn't it so horrible that TS4 without mods isn't Wicked Whims? Especially since they released a whole WooHoo EP earlier this year that brought back a whole bunch of the cartoony-steamy vibes from earlier Sims games. But it's not as if the lazy devs even bothered to include the old-school vibrating heart bed (actually the vibrating heart bed was in that pack). But yeah, most Sims players are adults but not all of them, therefore the devs should cater to exactly what I want and make it so that I don't have to download a mod in order to get Wicked Whims content. 🙄 That was sarcasm, BTW. And I'm not saying I don't have any issues with Lovestruck whatsoever, but it seems a bit silly to me to be complaining about the lack of old-school raunchy Sims content after that EP, because for all its issues, it did deliver on the old-school raunchy Sims vibes.

I think it's a bug and I hope they fix it soon. I'm a very loyal person and I also like to write stories with my Sims so I really hated that my very loyal and married sim just started flirting with everyone and now has 15 love interest.

Halloween has gotten so commercialized in recent years. It more about what kind of costume you have and drinking parties for adults. Even the kids get upset if they don't have the right costume. Halloween at its roots was a celebration of the dead. What's cool about the Mexican tradition of Dia de los muertos is they continue the celebration of their ancestors I love that. I wish more people of the world did something similar. Does Argentina have anything along those lines that is for this time of year? All due respect I'm just curious?

Yesterday during the livestream I was so confused why the devs decided to put the ghost powers menu in simology (iirc) rather than needs like all the other occults and your comment about hybrids made it make sense. Since the power menus for ghosts and vampires/werewolves/spellcasters are in two different locations it probably allows both systems to exist without conflict (i.e. no UI overlap).

I really like the heirloom feature. I've been playing the same family since Sims 1 - of course, each new game is a different generation and I'm currently on Gen 5 in Sims 4. I pass down certain items (crafted furniture, family photos, cross stitch) and after a couple of generations, the game no longer says "made by" a specific sim. This will be a game changer for me. I also like the funerals and cemetery lot type. I have 'funerals' and a 'cemetery' but not official.

I LOVE the difficulty variation in the Bucket List. Simple or hard goals, just like life. Sometimes your goal is to have a child. Sometimes, you just want to poison a sim(I hope this is an option), it feels like it adds to your sims individual personality.

Kayla, I know what you mean about the style of the buy mode items in the pack. It makes it so there isn't a complete set of anything. The two couches don't match, the loveseat and lounge chair don't even seem to match. It makes for a very disjointed catalog of items, and one is left feeling like there isn't "enough" items. This is where Horse Ranch shined. They stuck to one theme in the buy catalog. One could create a complete build using everything from that one pack, and it all coordinated. I kind of wish they had chosen just one style and stuck to it? Or figured out a way to give us a few pieces that would have blended them? Perhaps if they had also given us counter swatches that were grungy? 🤷‍♀

I feel like this is soooo easy to design furniture for, and the obvious choice is probably gothic antique or traditional furniture with gloomy swatches . It’s so disappointing to see them fumble something so simple when the rest of this pack seems pretty solid.

it would have been so cool if relationships in past lives affected the sims in their new lives. like for example, past lovers that get attracted to each other without knowing why, past parents that have a sort of mentor pulsion towards their past children, past ennemies that can’t get along in their new lives, etc. it would bring so much more depth to gameplay, I’m really looking forward moders bringing fun content to the new pack!

I used to hate my sims dying especially bc I was a kid and got attached really easily but now I love when they die and the new chapter that brings. I also have a save file a play with a vampire and it’s on short life span so they’re constantly making friends and family members and then forced to watch everyone they know and love die it’s really chaotic and I love it I can’t wait to see how this expansion pack changes this save file

I want the grave swap mechanic for baby bassinets. Sometimes my werewolf gets put in the standard bassinet when I wanted it in the werewolf one. Being able to switch would be a great help!

You can switch right now, but it takes a couple minutes and several loading screens. It's usually not worth it for me but everyone plays differently so... To do this, you need to move your sims out of their house, preferably on an empty lot or just evict them. I would recommend just using "freerealestate" for the whole process, so their money isn't affected. Then go into build mode in the house they usually live in and change out the bassinet for whichever one you want. Make sure that there are not more bassinets than you have babies, otherwise the game might decide on the wrong one. After that, just go back to manage worlds and move the family back into their home. The baby should be placed into the new bassinet. Personally, I would save the house before moving the family out, though. Just in case something goes wrong, mainly furniture going missing or whatever. It would be great if we could just easily change it in livemode though.

Complicated solution but I did this when I wanted to use the new storybook Kit bassinet after my newborn was already born, if you move your sims out, go into build and delete the og bassinet and put in the one you want, and then move your sims back in the baby will be in the new bassinet

I'm definitely playing a rebirth legacy where its the same sim reborn for 10 lifetimes and each one they're going to live in a new world and have a new experience. I love all of the dark aesthetic and macabre features but I'm looking forward to rebirth the most.

During the dev diaries they used a full version of the game with all of the packs, and rebirth worked for them! So that’s promising in terms of it working when the pack is dropped!
