Definitely agree on the frames. They look way too short for the boots. The dimensions on the fluid Vs are nearly identical to symetrics, but with the big chicken lips around the groove it makes it seem deeper than it is.
@wheelsceneblading2 жыл бұрын
The Fluid 5 feels entirely different to the Symmetrics. Symmetrics are way softer and groove much easier. Fluids have no break in time. It all depends on preference....like everything in blading.

I was bummed I couldn't use the Mesmer Slayer liner in mine even after heat molding it. Sitting through the heat molding process in those with the tightness at the top literally sprained my feet even though I am not too long in the foot, or too wide. I think the heel pad raised the liner too high within the boot, creating pressure down onto the top of the foot where the shell meets with the liner. The only liner I could find to work at all was the 2nd Skin.

@@wheelsceneblading First off, great review - definitely keep up the great work! :) Second, I did exactly the same: took out the heel pad straight away & since then have no problems at all. Using them currently with my Danny Beer Intuition Liners & works perfectly fine with me. The stock liners were way too painful, even heat-molding them 3-times didn't work at all.
@seanpellegrino29892 жыл бұрын
You're recommending the heel pad removal was a good suggestion. I took mine out to look at the difference with and without and noticed mine were glued in slightly forward of the heels edge on the flat plastic footbed. So I decided just to peel them off and reset them closer to the back of the boot, and suddenly the fit has much less of pinch at the laces than I had before.

Good stuff. I never skated thrones back in the day, I wonder what the ankle flex is like? I’m using them 909 with intuitions right now but I feel like all the moulding around the buckle receiver makes it very rigid. I long for solid boot skate with the flex of a shadow 1.0 cuff. Off to the drawing board…
@wheelsceneblading2 жыл бұрын
It's got good ankle support. There's not much difference in flex between the Mesmer and the 909. Nowhere near as much flex as the Fifth Element cuff, which is like rubber.

@@wheelsceneblading hmmm, it’s making me want to try the fifth elements haha, I like flexible cuffs like the oldest razor genesis and Salomon and shadow. I think folks shud just buy the right size and stop buying skates two sizes too small. Just getting the right size and putting maybe double foot sizer soles and ur feet will fit perfectly. U can always make ur skate smaller but u can't make it bigger.those little sole platforms is a great way to make ur skate fit smaller. Less issues. I don't know why everyone buys skates sooo small. Little feet look weird anyway. Just a thought 🤔
@wheelsceneblading3 ай бұрын
@@Hayyothhakodesh it’s not about buying skates that are too small, it’s about buying a skate that fits your foot as closely as possible. Buying your Norma shoe size on skates regularly results in the skate feeling loose and less responsive. Putting in extra insoles doesn’t help with that, it just fills up empty space that shouldn’t be there in the first place.
@Hayyothhakodesh3 ай бұрын
@@wheelsceneblading your probably very right. I guess I just kept hearing everyone talking about pain and feet problems. I played hella hockey and was a professional dancer and choreographer for 26yrs and whenever I sized down I had serious foot problems. Very serious. I started skating in 98 till 2007. Now back at it. I noticed major pain whenever things were too tight. And in my past I developed a foot injury due to too small of footwear. With these experiences I said what I said. I meant no disrespect. But you have skated in length and Im sure your knowledge is very valid. U cud be very right. Happy skating bro.

@@Hayyothhakodesh wearing skates that are too small is definitely not good for your feet and can also lead to back problems, but getting that performance fit and getting a shell that fits your foot as close as possible can make all the difference in terms of feeling and performance.
