i love that you made this a constructive criticism honest tarot deck. and hopefully that the creator doesnt take offense but takes it as something they can really get what they want with some honest advice with the cards

I think you were very nice on the review and you gave honest constructive criticism. I don’t like decks that have the creators image of themselves, their boyfriend/husband. I also dislike when creators put a picture on themselves on the deck box too or side of box. If you really want a picture of yourself just add it to the back of the guidebook with info about them as the creator. This is a tarot that would not work for me or for doing readings for other people. A thought popped into my mind of when we are kids and mom, family or a best friend tells us how wonderful our school project is and that we’re an artist and we as 8 year olds believe it. That’s the thought that popped into my mind when I watched the images of this deck in the video.

I really loved the backstory and explanation in the book - the ideas expressed and the way it was written. I wonder if Katie is a writer. The deck... Disclaimer: I am not a fan of collage art either. And I generally dislike photo or photo-realistic images of people in decks. It is possible to have a face or a physical form succeed at being a neutral representation of a generic "person" (Voyager Tarot manages it, with a couple of jarring exceptions), but often I look at these cards and I'm drawn up short, thinking, "Whoa, who is this person staring at me? Who let this stranger into my reading?" Don't want that kind of distraction.

I agree with your review of this deck. It's not something I would resonate with because it is very personal. It does come a crossed as arrogant when someone puts images of themselves in tarot decks. As an artist, collage art can be very misinterpreted as well. Yes, art is different based on the viewer, but when making a tarot deck, I feel the base definitions of every card should be represented in some way.

I think this deck would of been great if it was meant for a fanbase. Like if Katie had a massive following that was begging for a KLD deck, it would of been perfect. It somewhat seems like they had an artist do the artwork for the cards though. Like the artist interviewed K and took what she said and put it into card form. The art is wonderful, but the messaging is definitely off for me as well.

I feel very uncomfortable looking at this deck! Not sure if I could trust a reading with a deck that I'm not comfortable with you! Give me an uneasy feeling!
