You know who was absolutely right this entire movie? No questions asked, M’baku. First, dude leads a tribe that doesn’t really fall under the mantle of wakanda, but still waits until challenge day, because he respects the traditions of wakanda. Dude taps out, despite it being less honorable, because he knows his people need him. Finds a dying T’challa, does EVERYTHING in his power to prolong his life. Hints to the family that T’challa is alive before he reveals the secret (he specifically mentions that he was not murdered), and when offered all the powers of the black panther...rejects them and shows T’challa is still alive. All out of respect, a life for a life. Then houses his mother during the final fight, AND when asked if he can lend his men, debates it...only to at that moment decide he cannot lend Jabari lives. He is their leader and he must put his people first. So he declines any deal. AND AFTER ALL THAT, he then realizes it will becomes a bigger problem than just Wakanda. So he helps anyway, despite the fact there is no deal! He can only hope T’challa will repay him in some way, but no formal decision was made, so it is a matter of honor, not business. Lastly, he accepts a position on the council. Because he’s realized the cold shoulder between Wakandans and the Jabari benefits no one, and thus, ends a dispute lasting centuries.

I really liked your view of M'Baku much more than the overall displaced view people are giving to Killmonger making him an "antihero." Killmonger had one of the most plotforced argument i ever saw in a movie. If Blackpanther was a more intelligent movie, all T'chala had to do was tell the Rhino guy that Killmonger was the guy who saved his father assassin's life in the first place. He would had the Rhino tribe loyalty for life AND ended the stupid plot with wisdom instead of a fight... much more fitting of a king and of the HQ Blackpanther.

The question is way more complicated then Killmonger makes it out to be. Is Wakanda really going to be the police of the world? Do they have the right to interfere in the wars of other nations? Even looking at Wakanda's lack of action during the Atlantic Slave Trade isn't that simple. In history, the European slave-traders obtained their slaves from African Chieftains who had raided enemy tribes. If Wakanda tried to stop the slave trade how would they go about doing that? Attacking the slave ships might help. If slave-trading becomes too difficult, the slave-traders might give up and find an easier job. But what happens to the people that were captured? They would still be slaves, just slaves of other Africans. Is Wakanda going to escort all of them back to where they originally came from? What is to stop those people from being attacked by their neighbors again?

I'm surprised that they didn't even mention how T'Challa survived the waterfall incident lmao. He literally got slashed by Killmonger twice and got stabbed, then fell a massive distance and impacted the water through his back (which would have destroyed his back/should have easily killed him), then floated through the river until a fisherman found him which could have taken hours and he somehow didn't drown while going through the rapids, and then he was brought all the way to the mountain tribe without bleeding out.
