Chris Morgan wrote #2 - #8. They have new writers for #9 and it really seems that the new wrtiers just read all fast and furious memes and put them into this movie. #9 is seriously the most ridiculous and over the top. It's probably the worst one. Only saving grace is Justin Lin (Fast and Furious 3-6, Star Trek Beyond) His action scenes are phenomenal.

@Roberto Vidal Garcia The modified car culture was massive in the UK, Japan and US in the 2000's (Max Power, Fast Ford, Fast Car mags) before this film even came out. This got released due to it being a big thing, then the insurance market killed off people buying hot hatches and modifying cars.

Surprised Michael Bay hasn't directed a Fast & Furious movie, especially one of the later ones. Think about: fast cars, explosions, half naked women, more cars, product placement (Dom and his FAMILY only drink Corona), zero plot or character development, OTT action sequences (including more explosions) … kinda like Transformers

You know what's funny is the ending of the second Mission Impossible film was supposed to be a car/motorcycle chase through the streets of Sydney but they scraped that idea and made it take place out in the country because they realized no one would ever believe Sydney's streets would be clear enough to allow a car chase like that.

Mind blown on the Point Break similarities.. I should've caught that earlier. Cop goes undercover, gets better at surfing/driving, falls for the girl in the family/gang, goes semi-native. He even practically took Dom's cuffs off at the very end and let him go (and threw away his badge/career). And definitely one of the better Honest Trailers in a while. Infiltrate Dom's sister.. LOLOL
