i was going to re read all 3 books but so far ive only re-read FBAA. the other day i watched ur KOFAF recap sooo this is great timing. still debating on re-reading but this vid was helpful btw i believe the brother Malik is pronounced "Mel-eek". i have a nephew named Malik and that is how its pronounced just FYI :) and i really hate when authors name characters so similarly, it gets really confusing. also, i really dont like all the bloodline twists that JLA is putting into this series. it makes it so confusing and i personally get frustrated with all of that

Ahh thank you!!! I also completely butchered Kieran’s name and didn’t realize until I was editing this video (I have dyslexia which normally isn’t an issue at all but when I’m trying to talk fast and recap everything I tend to mispronounce/just leave out important words 😅) And idk how to feel about the bloodline twist - it also really annoyed me that in AKOFAF - the dutchess calls The Blood Queen “Poppy’s grandmother” and than we find out she’s really Poppy’s mother in ACOGB. Just seemed like JLA changed her original plan for the bloodline while she was writing ACOGB. Anyway - it’s still an amazing series and I can’t wait for TWOTQ!!

Definitely read A Shadow in the Ember before a War or Two Queens!! I’m only 3 chapters into AWOTQ and JLA is already referencing things that happened in ASITE!! 😊

@@saloverah haha there are def some important things your learn in ASITE that are discussed in AWOTQ - so I would definitely read ASITE first. I guess if you really wanted to you could read AWOTQ and go back to ASITE but I don’t think AWOTQ will be as enjoyable w/o having the insight and knowledge you gain from ASITE. I’m sorry - it’s really hard to explain my reasoning without giving any spoilers away 😅

Not sure if it’s mentioned in Shadow in the Ember but in The Crown of Gilded Bones the Draken tells Poppy that in order to wake up Nyktos’s consort - Poppy must return a stolen Draken and Ires to the resting place of the gods!
