Honestly, these videos are incredibly helpful. I love when you test new makeup but it’s really helpful to see what has stood the test of time and what “past” makeup you’d recommend. I am much older than you, obviously. I was a Clinique gal in my twenties. I remember using those chubby sticks for the lips. I always had Black Honey on hand, too. And I had their powder blush. I recall the actresses holding the Clinique blush compacts in various scenes in the movie ‘Clueless’. Times have certainly changed.

Me too. I was a tween and teen in the 90's. My grandma introduced me to Clinique straight from Bonne Bell and the brand still holds a place in my heart. Back then, your high end choices were Lancome, Clinique and Estee Lauder. I still find all of the brands on the market these days to be overwhelming. Back in the day, my gram taught me to walk my butt straight to the Clinique counter and bypass all else! LOL! I still have a purple shadow duo that was in a gift with purchase in 98/99 and loved/love it.

For me the iconic setting spray has to be the Urban Decay all-nighter setting spray. The thing I used 10 years ago when I worked in a restaurant, when I worked behind the bar, when I had to stand under the sun for hours. It’s THE setting spray for me. To this day I still trust it above all else. It does not dry me out. It truly does make things last. It’s easy to use. I just love it so so much.

Mac paint pots are still very popular and people use them as eyeshadow primers. Estee Lauder Double wear foundation is arguably one of the most iconic foundations. I think it says something about the formula if so many are willing to pay the price for it, despite the ridiculously impractical packaging. I don't know if this was also the case in US, but Guerlain's Terracotta bronzers were (and still are) huge in Europe. In France, people don't even call bronzers "bronzers", but terracotta. And Meteorites are still going strong (although recently reformulated). But I think (in contrast to ELDW), Meteorites are actually more popular because of the unique packaging.

It's funny, I only owned one or two products in each category until the last 10 years I have become much less "brand loyal". But Clinique I think its called Dramatic Difference foundation and almost lipstick in "Black Honey" the YSL click pen concealer and a Maybeline mascara in a pink tube! Thanks for the walk down memory lane, I still use a couple of the products you mentioned, the YSL primer, Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk blush and the Nars blushes.

Girl, you talking about 2010 as "back in the day"...LOL...I was a teen in the 90's. The Mac OG back then was Spice. Paramount was super popular too, as it was Rachel Green's/Jennifer Aniston's color in Friends. Revlon Rum Raison was big for drugstore. Clinique's Black Honey made a big resurgence in the 90's too. The cusp of late 90's into early 00's became all about frosts. I still have a Clinique purple duo eyeshadow from 98/99ish that was my all-time favorite. Actually, I nabbed this one from my mom, as I panned mine in college! I would love to see more videos on nostalgic makeup from various decades and also ones that have been discontinued. Also, I think the reason that the Lancome Juicy Tubes don't last long is because Lancome was smart and knew that tweens wanted to reapply their lipgloss 30k times a day so thst they could pull that tube out in class!

Hi darl, I've been wondering about the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Face Base for a while now because that's what I've been using as a primer/moisturiser so I think I'm going to give the YSL Serum a try. I use CT water cream. Armani doesn’t like a thick moisturizer. For spf i use Paula’s choice youth Rewind or Innisfree or Summer Fridays. Really thin products that dry down in between.

I still have and love the too faced chocolate soleil bronzer. I just love the tone of it! It’s perfect! I still am using one in the old packaging where it’s all gold. Now it’s kind of brownish/bronze and gold? But I bought backups way back when when I barely hit pan and didn’t realize how long it would take me to go through. Not to mention all of the other bronzers I have…. But I keep coming back to the too faced bronzer and still love it. Again, it is the perfect tone!

Loved hearing about these classic products! As someone who's been into makeup & KZbin videos, for the past 10 years, I remember the Hype! I think I'm the only one that the Armani Foundation & Nars Concealer didn't work on...they're both too dry for my skin, and I'm normal-oily! I agree with MAC Fix + not being the best setting spray - perhaps to make powders look less powdery, but that's about it. Can't go wrong with Ardell Lashes - I started buying them because of their reasonable prices, but fell in love with the #817's...length, volume and curl - what more can you ask for! ❤‍🔥

Lancôme mascaras are still very good, especially paired with their cils booster primer! I use that primer with every mascara I buy, my lashes need the extra help. I watched this video right after I decluttered my ABH Nouveau palette, my Urban Decay Born to Run palette, my NARS Orgasm blush, and a whole handful of Juicy Tubes. I feel the same about their texture. Back in the day, they were some of the best looking, best feeling, and longest wearing glosses out there. But newer formulas are much more comfy.
