Well, this certainly isn't the list we wanted to be on this year. Nonetheless, we appreciate you taking the time to check out the Homesteader 9mm. Hearing the good, the bad, and the ugly is what helps us make the best possible product. We take a lot of pride in the products we build, so we're all disappointed that this specific example didn't perform. The Homesteader 9mm has among the lowest percentage of returns vs. units shipped in our entire product catalog, which is a testament to the fact that your experience is not the one we're selling. If anyone has any doubts or concerns, our lines are open as always. Next year, we look forward to being on the other side of the conversation and having one of our products make a "Best Guns of 2024" video.

I've owned a Glock for a LONG time. I like the brand as it was a significant breakthrough back in the 80's. The main problem with them is they virtually stopped innovating pretty much also on the 80's. IMO the pinnacle was the G19 version 3. The clone manufacturers are showing what Glock could have been, even the PSA versions.

@theshapeexists Жыл бұрын
I will agree the Glock platform has lacked innovation. But in their ego driven chunk of marketplace, they're stuck up as a company. They got things so right with their original design, I feel like they never wanted to change something that worked. Sure they beefed up locking blocks, changed rail design, finger grooves a few times and such, but it's still very much the same gun. It's boringly reliable however which is why they still rule the market. I bought the lipseys p80 gen 1 a few years back. Super cool piece of history, however I have to laugh when I hold it against my gen 3 and 4 17s. It's very very similar.

@@SuicidalChocolateSK better is subjective. There are old timers out there with 70 year old tack drivers in "obsolete" platforms. Don't think glock isn't competitive because you shoot something else better. There are people in every platform who can blow us all out of the water in platforms you find inferior or have never shot. Glock still has the reliability and time that proves it's worth. My Glock 17 I bought 16 or 17 years ago is still going well after 60k rounds. I stopped counting. The main point of the G47 is that it allows CBP to stock one kind of recoil spring assembly for the G19/45/47. From an armorer/large agency perspective (federal LE generally practice/train more than municipal and shoot more rounds in the academy), this makes sense. For everyone else, benefits are more limited.

They could have released a slide only option if that is the case. It didn't need its own model #
@thebenior Жыл бұрын
@@claytondennis8034 Why would CBP buy separate slides? They're just offering 2 different sizes of guns the way that the FBI does with the 17M and 19M, CBP isn't going to be swapping slides. @JA-oo9qp Жыл бұрын
They wanted to be special. Should have simply bought a 45. Their special Glock 26 mod1 is stupid as well. Blaming Glock for making the guns CBP wanted is misguided. See also, Glock 28 and 46.
@thebenior Жыл бұрын
@@JA-oo9qp I suppose if you also argue that the G17 should be phased out entirely, you'd be consistent with that arguement. Besides, the FBI being special is how we got the 17/19M that led to Gen 5 Glocks, the army deciding to be special is how we got the G19X that morphed into the G45.
@JA-oo9qp Жыл бұрын
@@thebenior Not all RFI’s are equal. Each of those acquisitions were quite different. With the FBI having more performance based requirements whereas the CBP was basically about having commonality between recoil spring assemblies. The CBP and Army RFIs both read as if they were written by bureaucrats because that’s exactly what happened.

Great video. Appriciate the honest reviews. Refreshing to see an honest accessment of a Glock. This is a company who really needs to start over. With a clean sheet of paper. We don't bother to order them from our distributors anymore. Because so many come through from people wanting to get rid of them.

Glock did another release this year - they released the G20 in Gen 5. I'd been waiting for that for YEARS. I love 10mm, I love Glock, but I always hated the finger grooves and wanted the ambi slide release. Yeah, as soon as I could, I bought a Gen 5 Glock 20, a Blue Label (I'm a vet so I rate) with OEM Glock tritium sights. I love it. I hope they come out with the Performance Trigger for the large frame, because I still have the stock trigger in it, and I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with the new EOTech red dot or just get another SRO yet, but it's definitely a purchase that I'm very happy with and have taken into the woods many times loaded with some hard cast Underwood ammo.

I took a Girsan Regard Tactical to the range today and with a Holosun 407 green dot this pistol is really accurate shooting 147 grain Underwood Hard cast and Fiocchi 147 grain FMJ. Really happy with this firearm. The IWI Masada with the same set up was different story and will probably be trading it in.

Marlin made a pistol caliber carbine that works back in the 80’s and 90’s. Pick up a Marlin Camp 9. I got a Camp 9 N for my daughter who is recoil and noise sensitive. She absolutely loves it, especially the looks. Cowboy guns appeal to everyone.

I know it sounds crazy. But I thought the staccato CS might have made the list. Chris did the first shots 6 months ago! And we still haven’t got the full review. To take so long seems unusual for something he really likes. Accuracy issues perhaps? Wonder when we’ll get to see it here again.

Accuracy issues? My CS is as accurate as my P and completely outshines my G43x
@Dr.Drew321 Жыл бұрын
Interesting. My CS is certainly not as accurate as my P! But I wouldn’t expect it to be. But also not as accurate as many of the other handguns I regularly shoot. Including far less expensive ones. I don’t mean to sound like an a** h**e. But saying your $2600 Staccato outshines your $450 Glock. Isn’t exactly high praise, is it? I’m still curious.. Wonder why we have not seen it since the first shots, 6 months ago? And never got a full review.

Disagree with the 47. If you don’t own a 19 or a 17 it’s a good option. Most people do but I put a red dot on mine switched to night sights and installed a glock pro trigger set up. I agree if you have the 19 and 17 not worth getting and I also agree they should have put the pro trigger system in. Love your content mate keep it up!

i have an older (90's) Ruger Police Carbine in 40cal, and i love it, the only thing i wish was different is that the newer ones can take different stocks, and i would like to have an adjustable stock on mine. They make a great gun, for the most part, especially if you dont want to break the bank.

I just wish there was a Glock 19 size 380. That would be just for my wife in the home. She is quite confident with a 19 and nine obviously but follow up shots are slow. I had to cheat myself and it just isn’t great. I also don’t like the double single for her. If she practiced a lot she could operate it but that’s just not going to happen.

There was a Glock like that, I can't remember the number of the model, I don't know if they still make this model nor if it was imported in the US. I live in Italy, and I've seen some of them many years ago. There was also a. 380 model the same size of the 26.

Interesting video About lever guns: we have internal magazine feed ones, we had for a while, like the Winchester 1895, Savge 1899, etc...; why is so difficult to upgrade to a box magazine? 5) "Competition grade" triggers on carry guns are a no go for me, but that's a matter of preference. 4) But that's the point, to have a slightly bigger&heavier .380, in order to have a more confortable gun to shoot.

Can we please get a Homesteader 1000 round video??? I got mine halfway through the year and am glad i did. Put the glock magwell on it before even trying the Henry one. Ive had very few issues after putting about 600 rounds through it. Came back to add- i purchased mine before watching any reviews, but during the 10 day waiting period i was concerned that i had bought a malfunction machine. Pleasantly surprised that was not the case. And the fact i can drop mag from my side arm and slam it into my rifle or vice versa is uber cool.

I think the Tombstone was a great idea on paper. Had the hype and promise, execution didn't even get the map to attempt to come to the party. Having a magazine feed lever gun is still an interesting thing. Maybe not a rimless round like the 9mm. It probably would do better with a rimmed and bottle neck cartridge. Also instead of having a straight feed, that the rounds get presented with a nose up tilt, like a normal lever action. Maybe present the cartridges from a en-bloc clip or a charger clip like a Mannlicher 1895. It's one of those things that would really need to be looked at for a while.

I've always been a Sig and HK guy. Last year, right when the Smith and Wesson Equalizer hit the shelves, I said screw it and got it. I am now a S&W guy as well lol. It's the most accurate, light 9mm. Ambidextrous safety or no safety. Brand new they're like $500 and comes with a 15+1 mag, 13 and 10. It's definitely their best handgun ever put out, in my opinion. Another one that ended up being awesome is one from Slovenia called Arex...people call them a Sig knock off but i've had my frogman buddy tell me he liked it more than his P226
