She said in a recent interview that this song is about her relationship with Alex, they were in the early stages but she had to go to America with Little Mix to open Ariana's tour. Even if she liked him very much she didn't have the courage to say to Alex to wait for her, so she told him to go ahead with his life and she would have done the same ("you go your way I'll go mine") but surprisingly he told her that he liked her and that she was his girlfriend, so he would have waited for her return. That's where their story began and that's why at the end of the video she's still with the guy 😊

the lyrics is about the time when she first met alex as she said both of their schedule were super busy so they were like you go your way and i'll go mine and if its meant to be things will work out and it did they had a baby

The song tells the story of her relationship with Alex, basically when they had been going for a couple of months little mix went on tour with ariana in the US for 3 months so perrie told him that she didn't expect him to wait for her, basically said you go your way and I'll go mine, he said no he would wait for her which is why she's with the guy at the end.

This song is about Perrie’s and Alex relationship. When they start dating she went on tour with Little Mix and Ariana Grande. Since was just the beginning she was affraid because they would spend a long time without seeing each other, so she had a conversation with him and in the end Alex told her that she was his girlfriend, that’s why she ends the music video the way she did

Jesy may not be everyone's cup of tea, but she's found her lane as an independent R&B artist recently landing #1 with Zion Foster on the UK iTunes R&B charts and Top 10 on the general UK iTunes charts. She and Zion also hit close to Top 10 on the US R&B charts. And Jade... Well, Jade is going to be the one who explodes. She's smart, measured, self-assured, uniquely creative, a strong advocate for the LGBT community, and a vocal beast; she's made her identity clear. Jade has all the makings of a Pop icon. I'm ready for a Gaga collab YESTERDAY.

@HonestVocalCoach I can't remember exactly but Perrie said something along the lines of it's to do with when she went on tour supporting I think Ariana Grande and then between her and her fiancé Alex, it was a situation of going their own ways and then if later it's meant to be, they'll naturally come back together which fast forward now it was meant to be. That's obviously just the part I remember of what she said, there's probably more to it. I agree with the lyrism comments made but I'm just in love with the vocals.

@HonestVocalCoach the reason why the songs are so short is beacue the singers want people to keep re-playing their songs so they can higher listeners/view count. It's all about marketing and hitting the algorithms

I don't normally watch these vocal coach videos, but gave it a go. I have been a fan of Little Mix and Perrie since she dated Zayn Malik. I was a young teen and 1D obsessed. As I got older, I had a hard time liking their music because the lyrics and everything just seems so cheap compared to how vocally strong they are. I just heard this song recently, and of course I want to like it, but it didn't hook me. Again she is an amazing talent, but this kind of seems like a song that was tossed aside by other artists and she picked it up.. Also like a lot of Ariana's cheap pop songs. Very talented women for subpar songs. Now when I listened to Me, Myself, and You by Perrie, I was like FINALLY. This is what she needs to stick to. Less production and more in depth writing. A good example of this to me is Raye. She can sing and her songs are very creative and stories are well told so you connect with them. not just mindless pop that you hear in Forever21. I saw fans questioning why Perrie is not doing better or why other fans do not like her music and I think this is why

I've always loved Perrie's voice but I'm founding her music so bland and generic. Really dull. Really disappointing. She's not highlighting how great her singing can be. So sub-standard. For me Jade is making by far the most interesting music and what a voice she has!! Can't wait for her album.

Problem with Perries solo work so far has been the writing. Her voice sounds incredible as ever, maybe she should release one of the ballads she’s been telling us about instead of what we’ve been getting. Becoming more and more obvious why Perrie wasn’t on the writing credits for a lot of Little Mix’s later works and it’s Jade and Leigh-Anne instead. Still love all our LM girls tho

I really dislike this, which kinda upsets me because I couldn't listen to her other two more than once and wanted to like this one. This is a rare occasion where it being long is a detriment to the song - it feels really forced. You can also tell (at least in my opinion) that this song probably has no connection to perrie on a person level. It feels really bland while also having way too much going on. It's really irritating.

I do not know who is advising her, but so far Perrie’s music has been really disappointing. It is a shame because she’s got a great voice, but if the songs do not follow suit, I can see that her solo career will fail to take off.
