The change, from green dress to yellow one is definitely not lame (at least for me) but rather symbolic. We can’t forget that this is JUNIOR Eurovision and the songs, music videos etc. are supposed to be more kids-oriented and I assume that children who do not speak the same language as her still know what the song is about. Congrats to Ireland!! Beautiful song, music video and costumes. My top 3 🥰 e.g. “Lose my head” is about toxic friends, while from the video and even lyrics I would guess it’s more about some boy?

Oh, yes! I thought about "My heart will go on" too. It's the BEST song of Ireland prepared to JESC EVER!!! I've watched a lot of her covers of other songs, she's so gorgeous!!! All of the notes are very clear!!! It's definitely my WINNER!!! Good luck, Ireland! ❤❤❤

Your reaction seemed pessimistic and pedantic about the costumes. It’s about the song and singer and Sophie has proven herself live on many occasions. This is my winner this year! Congrats ireland 🇮🇪 🎶
@stevenroyweightloss2 жыл бұрын
I would say though that many times the video & costumes seen are important because entries are often staged using elements from the video. There is a good chance the costume change will occur on stage. These things will then play into the voting as it is an overall package of song / singer and presentation. Costume changes don't do as well nowadays as they have been seen so many times and are often quite dated. We don't see them so much in junior but even though Sophie is a good singer , if they do go with this staging, I think it will look dated, especially to younger audiences.

As soon as Ireland tries to add something Celtic style it’s called out on negatively. Yet, other countries who use traditional or something from their culture it adds style? 😂

She represents Ireland, how she suppose to look like? 🤔 I think song is stunning, her voice is stunning and it's nothing to do with titanic, proud of her singing Irish 🎶🍀❤️
@Kerrytoby2 жыл бұрын
My hear will go on is not a Titanic song. It's a Celtic song. Just like this one and the celts have been singing like this for ever. You can walk into any bar in Ireland and sometimes here a singer just as good singing Celtic music deep from consciousness itself. I am sorry you missed it. May your health improve and may you heal. Peace.

Exactly! Love georgina but its a celtic like song anyway, of course they will sound similar
@Shellydaliie2 жыл бұрын
Hi Georgina, just to clarify, you did allude to it in your reaction, the dress turning into a yellow dress was in reference to Sophie representing the light helping you through difficult times. The song is about mental health and how you're not alone in the most difficult times. I understand it is a very literal way of showcasing that but at the same time, I think its to help people understand the message of the song as the song is in Irish and they mightn't understand it. Also in relation to the song sounding like "My heart will go on" completely get that. I think that song (My heart will go on) sounds somewhat Celtic anyway and Solas does sound very traditional (I'm Irish). I hope the staging for this song can be effective, maybe instead of an outfit change they might have a graphic representing the light (it is important to have that in some aspect seeing as its an integral part of the message of the song) and perhaps it'd look less forced or 'cheesy' in a way. I enjoyed your reaction and I look forward to seeing the rest of them 😊👍.

Omg I LOVE THIS. Wow! Would be interesting to see the staging - if it’s good staging I could see it easily being a winner!

I think the nation will strongly disagree with you on this one Sophie has an incredibly powerful voice and actually went viral at 10yrs old worldwide for her powerhouse voice getting millions of views! She was Loren Allred from the greatest showman stand in on Britain’s Got Talent semi finals this year won BBC SCHOOL SOLOIST OF THE YEAR the list goes on lol This song is coming in tops most polls, an absolute stunning song very age appropriate too for a kids competition unlike other songs. Definitely a WINNER!! Such an important message in the song and very age appropriate these are children not adult songs. Sophie oozes class and sophistication a very humble girl and will go a very long way 🌟

I think she’s incredibly talented and I can really see her winning. I just want to remind you.. this IS a kid’s competition and one of the representatives have already seen your videos and commented. Please be kind and try to focus on the things you do like rather then the things you don’t. I felt your comments were a bit rude and unnecessary and that was disappointing to see. They are just kids and this competition is geared towards kids so what you call cheesy may be the most incredible thing to a child.
@tarichristopher93122 жыл бұрын
Strongly disagree about the costumes Georgina the green dress was traditional Irish and Ireland is embracing their heritage and culture unlike the UK with a radio pop song, being half Irish myself I think you're underestimating 😂🍀

This song is a mix of My Heart Will go On and Molitva (plus Disney and Irish fiddle). I like it though. If she performs live well, she can reach Top 2 in my opinion.

I, too, disagree with your assessment. She's 13. Her voice isn't going to project quite like a mature voice. Despite that I could still feel the sense of strength and power of the message. It was inspiring beyond words. This song and Sophie's voice are perfect together. I can't stop listening.

I don't think that somebody from your top 3 will win. Poland 100% will not be in the middle. Maybe 8-10th place. France will be high, juries will lift them.

I respect your opinion but i have to disagree with everything you said XD. Her voice to me was just perfect for the tone of the song. I have listened to it a lot of times and Titanic never came to my mind. Not even once. I think the video made sens and the story that was told was very easy to understand. She's searching for light, a magic key appears, her green irish dress becomes yellow, because light's color is either white or yellow to most people. Also, she's on top of a lighthouse. What else can she do than moves her arms in the air (like Titanic). No disrespect to you or anyone reading this. I thought the song was mystical and almost ethereal. I will say however that i don't like that the yellow dress looked good on her. Maybe the dress plus the lighting was too much ? I think there was a little too much yellow. I don't know. I will not take a point out for that. To me this is a 10 out of 10.
@GhostGardens2 жыл бұрын
Lots of sensitivity in the comments. I see where you're coming from Georgina. it's a very safe and stereotypical entry. No disrespect to the artists talent, she's done an amazing job and will go on to great things, but you need some sort of edge to win Eurovision and this is typical of Ireland to play it safe and cliché because our broadcasters etc don't actually want the hassle of hosting if we win (Irish here btw)
