as a stan of both women, tori wins hands down. i would say she’s the vocalist of the generation and her vocal technique is one of the very best. her lows are so full and amazing for a soprano, her belts are great, falsetto/head voice is AMAZING. agility we already know whew. she’s very well rounded. for me, demi’s strength are her mid belts. the power that she has is insane and the thing about demi is her ability to emote, i don’t really see other singers this generation that can portray the emotions like she can, you can really FEEL it. i just wish she would learn more about dynamics and that you don’t need to belt so much (but i know that’s her signature as well). i love that she has shown improvement nowadays also her high belts seem so easy for her now. also glad that she seems to know her limits in her agility too and not overdo it

All the lows and hv go to tori. Btw tori is not mixing most of her upper belts, shes literally dragging her speaking voice all the way up with relative ease. Demi has good belts but they're hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, then it's shaky, or too pushed. Both have surely improved in the belting department tho, a few years ago neither of them had the same ease as they do now in their upper belts. Btw u cant really say demi has more emotion than tori without actually listening to full performances.

Tori’s only weak point is her higher belting range (Eb5-Bb5), which can get shouty, strained and whiny at times. Still, she has some incredible ease and flexibility up there. And still, Demi is no better at that range either, they may have more a bit more ease and protection, but they lack finesse and restraint.

Yes she may be good at riffs and runs but she is not good in belting since her tone is pitchy/high, I think that is why she chooses to riff and run a lot. Oh and also riffs and runs, don't make one voice the standard for a great vocalists. Just cos you can riff and run doesn't make you the best vocalist, there are other things to consider. I think what impresses people most about her voice is the ability to riff/run easily. And I have seen some of her performance and it's not close to Demi's Overall I choose Demi but Tori has her moments
