Honey Bee at Spaces for Youth’s Turning Point Youth Summit

Mellisa Miller started boxing at the age of 16 because she wanted to lose weight and that is where her love for boxing started. She took a break for her matric year and returned to the ring at age 24.

“Work is love made visible… ” and the speakers for the second Turning Point empowerment event of 2019, work visibly hard. And their hard work is seen and supported by major brands and even other celebrities.
The event on Saturday, 10th August was themed “ForTheLove”. In which four expert speakers, in the areas of Music/Drumming (Joshua JSTAR Zaccheus), Professional Sport/Boxing (Melissa ‘HoneyBee’ Miller), Media & Live Presenting (Jerome ‘SLIM’ du Plooy) and international dancer/personal trainer (Tertia Dippenaar) share successes, failures and a message that will inspire others to reach out beyond their current circumstances. And to follow your passion and grow those talents you love about yourself.
Turning Point is a bi-annual event, that’s all about raising awareness, energy and expectation levels of the youth and community in Eldorado Park and beyond. 2019 was the second year of activating change, using role models that are “gebore and gemeng in Eldos”.
