I think what this anime tries to show is about happiness Is not about a great work with a lot of money Is not about have a great talent who amazes the world Is not getting a boyfriend o a girlfriend I think is find yourself, even when the society and other person tries to tell you what is right or wrong, is all up to each other what choise to do. The happiness is something we find in our rough road of the life and is precious for that...

I like to think this anine is about life isn't something scripted or has a story book ending for everyone...some stories ended happy...some sad....some no where in the direction they were planning especially with these two. The last 12 episodes hurt so much 😢

It's been a decade since I last saw this. It definitely helped me through the hard times. My favorite quote from Yuuta: “As time passes, the day will come when everything will fade to memories. But, those miraculous days, when you and I along with everyone else, searched together for just one thing… will continue revolving forever. Somewhere deep in my heart as my bittersweet memory.” It's strange though. When I finished this on animax, the ending song played in the credits was Hadaka no Taiyou by Yuki instead of Split by Suneohair. Unfortunately, I can't find it on youtube anymore. Copyrights maybe? :( The song perfectly fit while Takemoto was crying.

For the last 14 years, I've watched this once every year & every time I've become one step closer to reflecting upon myself. And I'll probably continue to do till I die. That's how much H&C imprinted on me. And Waltz. I got to thank suneohair for how he impacted my life.

I've done the same. Watching the whole series once a year. I did stop at one point when I went through some dark times and felt I didn't deserve to taint the memory of Honey and Clover during those times

I dont think so. I think she was naive and childish before and her passion for art made her feel like shes likes Morita. But the accident made her realize what compassion and love are to some degree, which were always there for Hanamoto but she never realized it. So when Morita suggested "you dont need to draw" while Hanamoto still favoured what she wanted, paved the way for her choice. The flashback scenes of Hagumi and Hanamoto clearly shows that she always liked Hanamoto and how he was always there for her. And finally Hagumi also understood Takemoto feelings which she cannot return (here we need to remember the sakura flower falling bicycle scene when Hagumi asks Takemoto how to payback Hanamoto), thats why she wished for his happiness by giving him clovers. In my opinion the sakura bicycle scene had me THINKING. What if Hagumi was referring to Takemoto while talking abt how to payback Hanamoto and this conversation was about Takemoto not Hanomoto... Even Morita didnt get a teary goodbye Takemoto did. So I think in the end Hagumi felt for Takemoto to some extent. But Hanamoto was always the first choice Takemoto second and Morita lost in the end. Thats just my opinion.

i just realized that even hagu loved shinobu..she still choose shuuji because he love her beyond anything. Im happy i rewatched this show to understand that its not a sad ending for takemoto. How ever I pray that Yamada and Nomiya can be together more than mutual understanding. she thought she loved mayama but the truth is..something special that meant for her. Nomiya are more mature but He loved Yamada Ayumi so deep. And for Mayama..i just wish he could find much better.

My theory is that Hagu loved all three but for different reasons. Takemoto gave Hagu hope for the future like the sun. That's why she was so hurt when he left to go find himself. And was so glad when he returned. But felt she was being disloyal to Shuuji so she didn't pursue it. With Shinobu she was not as hurt when he left she felt she would be holding HIM back from his dreams and goals. A lot of inner conflict because of Shinobu didn't really care about Hagu's feelings. Not that he cared ONLY about himself but was so consumed by personal and family conflict. Amazing part of the story with business being bought back from Mr. Ford. In the end though Shuuji was ALWAYS there for Hagu. Even during her younger years. That ULTIMATELY is what convinced Hagu when she couldn't rely on herself. Shuuji was still there for her just as before. Takumi said it best. It was about what Hagu needed most at the time. But all three played a part. Shinobu gave money to help with Hagu's and recovery, Takemoto basically gave moral and emotional support, But Shuuji had what Hagu needed at the time. Unconditional love. He was willing to risk ALL even leaving Hagu to show his love. (Now the twist) Hagu didn't have to find Takemoto to give the bread to him. Why did she? Why did she show up to the train station by herself? Why did she do much time picking just the right 🍀 s and if you notice wasn't she wearing the same dress? That's why Takemoto was so shocked when he saw it. That's why he started crying. She probably would've cried more if she couldn't catch him. She was absolutely relieved. She hugged him like a boyfriend. My theory was it was Hagu way of saying without actually saying it, I LOVE U TOO. When the train left she hesitated for a minute and chased the train. She also had her hand against Takemoto's between the glass. Even though it wasn't shown I think they kissed. Just my theory though. I know this is long but I've been holding back. Thanks for your comments. One of the best stories I've ever seen. 💛
