Honey Fork vs Honey Knife | Product Review | Beekeeping

We tested the latest honey fork gadget going around the internet vs the standard uncapping knife to see how it performed on a frame of Bohemia Bee Honey.
While we admit this was not a good video due to angle, the tool still did the job it was supposed to do, we just prefer to use a serrated knife.

I saw another review and they changed their mind on the tool after using it across the frame, rather than down. and start at the top and work down and the loose cappings fall over the remaining capped frame. that is, don't go upwards as it falls and sticks to the now uncapped frame. doing it this way, they didn't need to clean the tool out by tapping it free.

Assuming the frames are built out past the frame, the knife worked wonderful! I have frames that I have tried time and time again to use the knife without any success. Uncapping is the longest part of my extraction and such a headache. Still trying to find a quicker method.

Handle needs to be offset so the honey does not flow on your fingers. try spraying PAN on the knife before you start.

I wouldn't want to get pam in my honey. While I know its safe and used for food prep anyway...I would worry it would give a slight taste to that portion of the honey. This wasn't a great video as I had challenges with the angle and setup. While I thought the tool did the best job it could...I still prefer a straight stainless serrated knife.
