I've recently changed the way I slapchop my minis now, it might be worth trying it out and see what you think. The only downside to the normal slapchop is when the model has a very closed stance which means you can't get the dry brush to it and therefore it stays black and then can't be coloured with translucent paints. So now I prime in grey, then do a black wash before the white dry brush. This targets the black to the lowest recesses and areas the dry brush can't reach will be a grey and will take speed paint ok

Cool orks , I've downloaded a few freebies from my mini factory, unfortunately I've not yet bought a resin printer so miniatures are not worth doing yet , I'm going to get some abs filament and see how I get on with smoothing the prints with acetone, I imagine they will still lack detail compared to resin . Speed paints are pretty impressive I'm almost being swayed into investing in some

The video is titled "I cut the printer in half" for an ~18 minute video, but the part talking about that is less than a minute. I'd absolutely love more info on that. What did you use to cut it in half? What did you use to seal it? Anything you'd change about it? I need to do the same thing to my printer.

Cheers, I used a cheap dremel with small circular cutting thingy, yeah I love it as it fits in a small space and no more sticky messy lids, I might do this to all my new printers lol 🙂

I am really struggling with dry brushing. I either get next to no paint on my brush and it takes a few passes to get coverage or I get too much paint and then it's not dry brushing at all. What's your secret?!

I guess just practise and sometimes if Im unsure how much paint is on the brush I rub the brush over my thumb to see if its too much lol 🙂

Make a textured dry palette or get a nice craggy bit of tile or wall panel. Damp the brush before adding paint, with a sponge or paper towel, not a cup. Look up Artis Opus, they made a business out of dry brushing.
