One of the best anime ever! The way this anime portrays and present the feeling and emotion, the meaning of love, and it's variants are really beautiful and realistic! The way the characters deals with their anxieties, dilemma and struggles are also realistic.

I first watched the anime near the end of my middle school years. I liked it but didn't feel that emotionally connected. 3 years later I read the manga in my first year of uni and cried several times throughout the series. Chica Umino-sensei is GOD.

I loved watching this show when I was a kid when it was shown on Animax, that time all anime were shown in eng dub...some reason i didnt pay attention to s2 n now Animax is gone in Malaysia.

but clannad , air ,kanon and toradora are all aimed at a younger teenage audience where h+c was aimed at an adult audience , this show is a realistic slice of life all the shows you mensioned are far from it being more in line with fantacy set in modern times , i can understand why people might not like it by why the hell would you watch the whole series then , and why bother flaming on the internet if you hate it so much

I hate the ending. Unrequited love. Takemoto love Hagu Prof Hanamoto love Hagu Hagu love Morita Nomiya love Ayumi Ayumi love Mayama Mayama love Rika-san Rika-san love Harada (dead) Finally all of them just be friends. I guess, in the end, only Ayumi n Nomiya ended up together.

I don't watch or read Honey and Clover but they are make appearances in March Comes Like a Lion, and most of them already married. Married couple : Hagu with Hanamoto, Ayumi and Nomiya. Dating: Mayama and Rika.

I don't know about GTO but none of the others are based off hentai games. Toradora is a light novel, pretty popular one. And Air, Clannad and Kanon are visual novels but none are Hentai.

IMO.. this anime have plenty of meaningful messages. just because you dont like the ending doesn't mean that you should just discard everything you've watched until then. while i agree that the ending is not "hollywood". i think it's quite good, as in my real life experience, women would rather have security than succumbing to their desire. it sucks tho, if the accident never happen they would've ended up together. and Ayu and Yamada story is rather interesting to watch as well.

Hey even if hagu didn't had the accident I don't think she would've ended with takemoto, I think she then would have ended with morita as both of their feelings were mutual, it's sad but she cared for takemoto a lot, very much to the point of searching so badly for those four leafed clovers which she couldn't even find for shuji, all to convey her feelings of gratitude for him and give him all the luck she can in the world but sadly she didn't view him in a romantic light, it can't be helped. If hagumi didn't had the accident still takemoto would have this kinda ending as obviously she would choose morita.

Actually, Clannad was 100%not eroge, "Kanon nearly eliminated the erotic part of the eroge" and even released an all-age version. So I guess technically Kanon was eroge, although it had barely anything in there. Toradora is a light novel like Suzumiya. And Air I'm not sure about although I doubt it since there is a very big difference in age between the main characters, and since it was made after Kanon and at that point key was going for all-ages.

Well, fair enough. I still think non-stories should not exist, but if people like watching a non-comedic show about nothing then so be it. Although i do hate people trying to argue that this show has leasons and realistic characters and scenarios :S. Nways, thanks for the reasonable responses... eased my HnC hate flame a bit. Although I still think and allways will that this is a shallow non-story.

I've watched Clannad, Air, Kanon, Toradora, GTO, etc.. do any of those qualify as being Slice of Life? If they do, then my point still stands, because they all had stories with a real conflict and characters that were much more realistic even if there is a lot of fantasy in the stories themselves. But thanks for warning me about Aria, I don't want to ever have an experience like Hnc again in my life. I like stories with stories, sounds obvious, but apparently it's not. Since people liked HnC.

My point is not about what the show its about... I'm saying that it fails to deliver a story that is worth of being taken seriously. NOTHING happens, analyze it, and you will see the forced depth when it comes to characters, and the story itself. And BtW, it IS about love, there is nothing about life in that show. At least nothing that is real or relevant for someone who knows the outside world. One way love is not enough to make a show, no matter how much forced drama you inject it with.

Oh, I thought EF was awful...the way it uses sex as the epitome of love, and the whole thing.. I just thought it was shallow, and too hentaiish. I thought Clannad was amazing, and I´ve seen the after story. Might Check kimi ga nozomu eien later. Thnx for the suggestions.

Pretty sure you finished the series by now... but in case you haven't, everyone have their proper ending.. but its been years since I've last watched it. If my memory is correct, she will probably end up wil mayama's boss. Or maybe she was just using him? 🤔 I forgot. honey and clover have 2 season.

I would say fine, if there was any real character development. But there isn't. Maybe I was kinda harsh on the people that liked it because It wasted my time in such a crappy way. But I'm going to be objective and say that this is a bad story... If you feel you are being objective too.. fine, but i don't think you are if you consider this a good show.

This show is very realistic and about very real life people not just characters and real life people don't always go through character development no matter how much event occurs to them, they can gain a lesson and keep it in their heart and thier essence remains the same, honey and clover shows exactly that.

OMG, please don't make me flame. I REALLY don't like doing this, I swear I dont. There is nothing realistic about this show, other than the one-way love, which as I said before is not enough to make a show. Enlighten me on what exactly was so realistic, and please tell me it's not the characters. The situations are forced and riddiculous. And they try to make them normal. It would be fine if it was a more fictional oriented show. But it takes itself too seriously, wich is what makes it lame.

Wow, this anime sucked the happiness out of me. They try to make it so real that it plain sucks. This is one I'll never watch again. I watched 20 episodes of pure Yamada boringness waiting for Hagu and Takemoto to end up together, and it ends with a pedophile and a totally pointless message. I know love not always ends how you want it to, I don't need 38 episodes to realize it. Plain emo. I wish i had never watched this, it was a waste of time.

Wow, I don't check my mail for 2 days and I see your comment just 2 minutes after you write it. Nways, I'm sorry but this story has NO conflict, and is therefore not a story. There is no buildup to anything, and you are left there asking yourself: What exactly am I supposed to get from this. Unrealistic characters living their normal lives which don't have enough relevance to lead to a wannabe-deep, bitter, unrealistic, almost creepy ending which leaves nothing worthwhile. Somewhat pathetic.
