Photo Owl Time Lapse

Күн бұрын

Honey time lapses are among the most requested videos I receive. While many know that honey possesses antibacterial properties and naturally preserves itself, there's still a fascination to watch it over an extended period.
Enjoy Honey Time Lapse!
🎵 Music
Feel by ANBR
Fun Fact: Just like fingerprints, no two honey varieties taste exactly the same. The flavor and texture are influenced by the types of flowers the bees visit.
(In case you are new here, I always put a fun fact in my video descriptions.)

You know, almost no change can be just as fascinating as rapid change. So interesting that bees can make something that preserves so well. Almost any other eatable fluid would have completely evaporated all the water out of it and just left a crusty flaky stain… honey walks up to a time-laps like “hold my mead…”
@margret632
@margret632 10 ай бұрын
It's interesting that there weren't more insects but it also seems like the lack of moisture could be a factor at the lack of interaction. The parts that were moving though I wonder if it was some type of bacteria that tried to develop. But what an amazing substance honey is, it could probably be preserved forever in a clean and sealed container
@dwerg1
@dwerg1 10 ай бұрын
Definitely seems like a low humidity environment just made a bit of the water evaporate from it, leaving it too concentrated for anything to grow on it. I'd be interested to see what a high humidity environment would do. My guess is that it might absorb enough moisture from the air to dilute it enough for molds and bacteria to attack it.

Honey is hygroscopic- this means it will absorb water from the atmosphere. Once the water content rises above 20%, honey will ferment. This is why honey stored correctly in jars stays good- sealed away from absorbing more water. I suspect the honey hidden away behind the wax cappings will be fine, but the honey on the plate will ferment eventually.

I think I heard the reason honey doesn’t go bad is because it’s like the dead sea (on the opposite spectrum of taste), so sweet that it’s deadly for stuff to grow and thrive on it. Although ants can definitely “spoil” it out by drinking off of it, the room here seems clean and in good condition.

i mean, technically speaking honeycombs and honey are the bee's building material, and it wouldn't be very cool if your house started just crumbling down because of mold and stuff

@@Lyothere ethicality when talking about insects doesn’t really matter. Insects are essentially just robots, they don’t really have the ability to suffer they just operate on negative on positive feedback. U can argue we are just a much more complex version of this but the way we think is infinitely more complex, to put into perspective our stomachs have more neurones than a rats brain and a rats brain is magnitudes more complex than any insect meaning our stomach alone is more complex than any insect, and that’s not factoring in any of our actual brain that houses most our neurones

@@chipbutty3645 Maybe you're right about the fact that insects don't feel pain like we do, but there is no real proof of that right now (I checked a few weeks ago on the topic), which in my opinion makes it okay to care about these animals and to admit that honey production in unethical.
