It's augment is that bane no longer gets weak after using venom, but it doesn't say that when you actually use venom that you take damage depending on the level of venom you use. How much damage you take depends on your health stat so the higher health is, the more damage you take. Level 3 venom can take 44% from you if you have around 1600 health
