In this video, we go through the options of image-based analysis via radiance and how to look and adjust output images directly inside the grasshopper. #honeybee #rhino #grasshopper #radiance

Hello thank you for this video. i have a question about ""Radiance Parameter"" I have no idea why we should chose between low and high and.. how we can know about it and chose the right one??
@PhilippGalvanDesign7 ай бұрын
I will explain in the next video. But basically its about the resolution of the test. If you need an overview of the result you go for low detail. if you have more time and want to be more accurate then you choose high.

hi,it is great tutorial for me!!! i am working on the glare analyse but the Script link is missing, could you share again?

Hi, I stopped providing scripts for several reasons. Please check out the installation files where the developers proved several example scripts and snippets fit to the version you are working on.

Hi sorry but I stopped sharing links... Just causes more questions and confusion.

Hi, I was wondering why my glare simulation takes 30 minutes. I was using a simple rectangular geometry with a large grid and still, the raytracing took forever. 🥲. My RAM and CPU usage are only 50% used during the process. Before this, the Daylight Factor calculation takes around 5 minutes (which is also long enough for a simple box)

There is a way to control CPU. However I haven't explored that really. Radiance is based on ray tracing, as I understand and accuracy. That already makes it much slower then a realtime render engine like enscape or unreal has but they are not accurate on the other hand. It's like the good old times when a rendering with 3d max took 2 or 3 nights. :)

In other words I don't really have a solution for you. Except: maybe you want to have a look at pollination.

@@PhilippGalvanDesign Thanks! It is weird though, I previously used the older version of honeybee and any of the calculation can be done very fast. After I tried using the latest version and installing a new radiance software, all the calculations take quite a long time. I have tried installing pollination a couple of days ago, but since their version of honeybee and ladybug is not the latest one, I ended up uninstalling them and installing honeybee manually. 🤷

Good to know. I haven't tried the latest version yet. I'll test and see if there is a difference on my side.

@@PhilippGalvanDesign Update: Just realised I haven't connected the rad parameter to the recipe. It went fast after I connect it. Apologies, this is my first time using the updated version. It has been quite some time since I use Honeybee Ladybug and lots of changes happening since the legacy version 💀
