Brilliant, my grand father fought in the battle of Kilkis Lahana and Giannitsa (1st Balkan war), I have the certificate commerating his 2 medals for these battles, I look forward to one day visiting the museum in Kilkis.

Pyrrhic Greek victory . Greek victory but with large losses

The battle was very deadly, but it was not a Pyrrhic victory because although there were many casualties, all strategic objectives were achieved. A deadly battle is one where the loss of life is substantial, but it does not inherently comment on the overall outcome or strategic success of the engagement. In contrast, a Pyrrhic victory refers specifically to a situation where the victor suffers such devastating losses that the win is rendered almost worthless. Despite winning, the costs incurred are so great that they negate any sense of achievement or advantage gained from the victory. In this case, the high number of casualties did not undermine the strategic success, as all goals were accomplished despite the heavy losses.
