i am in Zimbabwe and for us the season is before winter which begins in may. how best can you prepare for blueberry pollination? Do's and dont's for build up etc. any advice for a newbee pollinator

Hello Catherine, Great to hear from you! The bees would need to be strong with a good food store / supplement available running up to the blueberry season and then feeding sugar water during the pollination period too. Ideally, you want a very strong colony going into the blueberry season as there will be a decline due to the lack of pollen and nectar availability. You can feed them small amounts of pollen patties/substitutes as well each week about a table spoon size that is heaped. Ensure that you only take STRONG and established colonies with at least 8x brood frames drawn out with brood comb and with very high quality brood pattern and larvae production.
