It was like he got set up and that’s why he admitted it. Even sickler seemed suspicious of that part. He was probably being investigated by internal affairs and this is what they settled on. It all seems far fetched to me.

There is a problem with "disgruntled officers." Law enforcement agencies use the same questionably legal entrapment laws that they teach these officers in order to entrap and make martyrs for the overall image of the police. I admit I felt good when I saw news coverage of taking down a "disgruntled officer" but what it really means is they won't put money towards psychological help for these human beings. Not to mention the questionably legal quotas that he was faced with.

Followup: He committed *one* provable crime of bribery. His image was then smeared for months for a false campaign, which was forced by political pressure to trap "problem officers." Sounds like his union did a lot of good for him. There are worse perpetrators being protected.
