Honeymoon Island. Most Beautiful Virtual Bike Ride to the Beach. Dunedin Florida

Honeymoon Island and the Dunedin Causeway are some of the most attractive places in the world. Dunedin and Honeymoon Island attracts many people to enjoy emerald green water, powder sugar sand and nature. We explore the causeway and the Honeymoon Island State Park. Honeymoon Island Beach has lots of nature to explore but also concessions providing food, drink and rental equipment. In the video we tell you how Honeymoon Island received its name!
This barrier island state park offers numerous nature-based activities. 5 miles of beaches, 3.5 miles of wooded hiking trails, nature center with gift shop and scenic views, 2 cafes, a new playground and wildlife including gopher tortoises, dolphins, manatee, eagles, owls, osprey and 100 of species of birds.
A trip to the Rotary Centennial Nature Center helps visitors learn about the park’s history and natural resources.
Swimming, fishing, shelling, hiking and bicycling are all popular activities that make Honeymoon Island State Park an ideal getaway.
The park is also the ferry terminal for access to another unspoiled state park, Caladesi Island.
Effective April 9, 2024: Erosion and sand migration have separated the northernmost mile of the Honeymoon Island State Park sandspit from the main island (this area is a long way from closest parking), forming a temporary cut. Erosion and sand migration are natural processes that continually act upon barrier islands.

Hi Mike it was great to cycle here with you :) Honeymoon Island looked fabulous and Hurricane Pass looked so lovely too. I love that there are a lot of trails there, so much to see and do. Loved the palm trees as you rode. Great to know how the island got its name, shame the huts got destroyed though. You had some lovely memories of camping on the beach there in the 70s, so fun :) Must be great to camp and kayak here at Honeymoon Island and see gopher tortoises too 😃 Such a beautiful place and as always you presented this so well with lots of information. So glad you got your wallet handed in too 👍~ Anna
