I like listening to these folks. They are easy to listen to, and I think these young people have a lot of talent. The young lady has a beautiful, refreshing, crystal voice with a beautiful tone, that could probably crack glass. And I've heard them do other songs very well. But, I'm sorry. This one just isn't for them. When you are going to cover a song that people like Keith Urban, and even Slash say is one of the best songs ever written and recorded, you better either nail it, or totally make it your own. Didn't hear it either way here. It's just not a girly song. The strings hit pretty nice on his keyboard, but the guitar really missed. Glen recorded that lead on a tuned down bass guitar. The harmonies blended well, but just don't belong in the song.This song is more than lyrics with instruments behind it. It's the magic that only Jimmy Webb and Glen Campball could create. Find the video of the two of them performing it together. The passion, the feeling, the depth, the warmth. I've seen it bring people to tears when they listen to it.... so now that I am the bad guy for saying all that, I mean no disrespect to these young people. Like I said, I think they have a lot of talent, and the gal has an incredible voice. I'd like to hear her do some Emmy Lou Harris, or Kasey Musgraves, or I think even some Allison Krause. I think it's there. Just be more selective with the songs you put out there. Maybe even some funk. I think they have the sound, and definitely have the look!
