I remember traveling to Hong Kong prior to the pandemic, it was crowded and many businesses available. Now, it looks so deserted yet much cleaner. Thank you for posting this video.

Have been to Hong Kong a total of 17 times over the years. I simply loved it, would not go again, and can't believe how uncrowded it is, would have been impossible to walk in a straight line up Nathan Rd, absolutely packed, looking at this video in Nathan Rd virtually can't see any foreign visitors, so sad😢 have walked the full length of Nathan Rd and just about every where else, watched the new airport being built, flew into it the year it started flying out the year before to old Kai Tak stopped, great memories 😢

Glad that you loved old Hong Kong! It must have been cool to look at planes flying above Kowloon City before landing at Kai Tak. This walking tour was recorded during the pandemic, when Hong Kong closed its international borders. Nathan Road is now crowded once again 😂

21:52 To the left was once a 'haunted mansion' before present day Yu Wah Department Store. The old house was taken down in 1977. It was built in the mid 1920's by a oil merchant name Wong Tong.Because of the spooky looking of that house most people believe it was haunted starting in around the 1950's.

I remember seeing that in old photos of Hong Kong. It was a pity that I could not witness it, as a person born after its demolition.

@@VirtualToursTV I lived in the neighbourhood with my parents in the 1960's. That old mansion was really spooky. Rumour from those days was about a young woman who hung herself there and her spirit kept circulating from inside !

I thought his name was Wong Cheuk-Hing? Hong Kong surely had lots of haunted places, surprisingly more than what I’ve guessed.

I really wish you would have clearly photographed the names of the cross streets as you were walking north along Nathan Road. Without that, it was really difficult to identify the location that you were walking. I think that you eventually turned east along Argyle street, then headed south, then west along Soy street back towards Nathan Road. I think. The video would have been much more enjoyable if you had photographed some orientation information.

Is it safe to travel HongKong with family & kids, people understand English specially taxi drivers ?
@VirtualToursTV
@VirtualToursTV Жыл бұрын
Yes, Hong Kong is family-friendly! There are two theme parks within the city where you can spend a great time with kids. Hong Kong is also a safe city, and my only tip is to avoid walking along narrow back alleys at night to ensure kids' safety. Most of us understand English, and for drivers, they understand destination requests in basic English. In case the driver really doesn't understand, perhaps it's a good idea to search for the Chinese name on the Internet and show it to him.
