Hong Kong Disneyland "Mystic Manor" Full Experience POV Car 3

This is a video I took inside the newest ride attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland called "Mystic Manor". 4 cars are launched at the same time and visitors in each car will have a different experience due to the position and moving order difference. I must have watched this video a dozen times already and I'm still amazed at the sheer quality of the ride. They should bring it to Disneyland, CA.

I noticed, most of the people who are posting here keep saying that they should bring this ride to DCA, not really understanding why this ride exists at all. The thing is, in Hong Kong and China, the concept of Death is something thats not talked about in the open, and its quite a touchy subject over all. Obviously, they couldn't introduce an attraction that is revolved entirely around death and Resurrection, so they created this whimsical little treasure. As much as I would love to see this ride in person (and I will one day) I'd say just let it stay in Hong Kong for now. They have this ride, and we have Haunted Mansion~

there is the same ride system at Sea World in Orlando, the ride system is great but it needs to be used well which in Orlando it's not but is in Hong Kong

This is such an amazing ride. We're getting the same kind of attraction in Holland but with a different storyline but the same techniques. Can't wait for it to open!

The best part of this video as opposed to other MM ridethroughs is how off-center it is in the Egyptian room, letting you see the dancing Horus glyph. I wish more videos focused on the littler-seen parts

in the initial planning stages for the haunted mansion in california back in the 60s, some of the ideas that are not included in the HM ride were things like a museum and strange and mysterious artifacts from around the world that would come to life. they also have the same music playing in the background of this ride as the haunted mansion rides in CA, FL, and Paris. also, the medusa picture is in all the other rides as well. i think this is a great nod to the HM rides while being original.

WOW WOW WOW! I NEED TO GO ON THIS! THIS IS AMAZING! I hadn't even heard about this ride until just now! It's beautiful! It does seem to be the sister ride to the Haunted Mansion, but it's such an utter departure and magnificent for it! I don't know why they chose to have the Mystic Manor rather than the Haunted Mansion but I am glad that they did!

+LoneSoul06 Depends on which park. The parks with space get a lot of new original rides. Parks like Disneyland in California have to be picky because space is very limited.

What I saw on the websites was that they believe in Chinese culture, ghosts are not supposed to be scary, but the truth is ghosts are scary in Chinese culture. Haunted Mansion is one of the classic Disney attractions, and personally, I think every Disney Park should have all those classic rides like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion and etc...

No...not really. Some people say it's the Chinese version of California Disneyland Haunted Mansion, but I think it's just a complete different attraction in HKDL which has nothing to do with Haunted Mansion... However, I do really wish they can build a Haunted Mansion in HKDL or the upcoming Shanghai Disneyland.

Due to the cultural beliefs about the dead in China, Disney could not make a true "Haunted Mansion", so they built this instead.

I do like Mystic Manor but I'm confused is this just Hong Kong's version of the classic Haunted Mansion? There are no heads singing Grim Grinning Ghosts or things like the dancing ghosts in the ballroom.

well, Walt's original idea for the Haunted Mansion was actually called "The Museum of the Weird." Guests would walk through and look at 'artifacts' that would interact with guests. This ride just merely took that idea instead of going with the Haunted Mansion like Walt eventually did to make a Disney version of a haunted house.

Since Chinese don't believe in Ghost the Imageeners decided to remake the ride into a mansion of Spirits and Death's come to life.

Unlikely they'll ever be a Haunted Mansion inside HK or China at all due to cultural differences surrounding ghosts, spirits, and the dead. As I understand it, Mystic Manor is the idea they came up with that was acceptable to their target audience.

It's Hong Kong's answer to the Haunted Mansion. In the East they have a different attitude towards ghosts and treat the spirits of deceased ancestors with great reverence. Mystic Manor isn't haunted it's enchanted
