Hong Kong’s fourth cross-harbour rail line, an expansion of the East Rail Line, opened on May 15, 2022. Hundreds of rail enthusiasts flocked to the new Exhibition Centre Station in the early morning to take the first train to travel from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon. The 16-station line connects the border with the Chinese mainland and northeastern New Territories with the central Kowloon and Hong Kong Island lines.

I love hongkong MTR, it literally can transport us to almost every place in Hong Kong. It inspired many Asian cities to do the same, like Bangkok BTS and Jakarta MRT. Still, nothing compares to hongkong MTR, millions passenger capacity, great total distance, many many shops around the MRT. I think the only downside is how hongkong people always seems like running in the MTR area, even their MTR escalators are so much faster and higher than the regular asian MRT escalators.
