Thank you for showing us young ones what the world used to look like. It is one thing to read about things on paper and seeing pictures, watching it on video is important!

I loved every single clip I watched. I'm now living in HK and cant get enough from this place, but I loved HK in the 70's to mid 90's era. I always thought my past life I was living in HK.

I suppose that its purpose was to prevent dust on the road blowing up and being inhaled. Tuberculosis was spread this way. Spitting in the street was prohibited in Hong Kong (as was jaywalking !) and elsewhere.

the piece from 2:21 to 2:50 has been printed the wrong way round, the pan from right to left ends up at Wanchai and Notth Point, which should be on the right.

Dear Mr. Rogg, the period 0:57 - 1:16, the location of spreading water on street seems PEKING in 1915?

Oh Sorry! We very much appreciate that you can upload these memorable films. Not sure if you have films about Tai Kok Tsui in HK. it was my home in the old days. I would like to get some nostalgic memory if I could see the school, my living place and the playgrounds in the films.
