Isn't everybody of us wearing a metaphorical mask? We buy certain brands of clothes to appear like somebody we want to be and by wearing these clothes we turn into this someone. A person in a suit in an office would most probably behaive compleatly different than the same person wearing a band t-shirt and jeans on a concert. We put up a smile, even if we are not really happy, or put up an angry face to look tough, when feeling insecure. The only "real" people are most likely homeless people, who don't choose what they wear, but whatever they get and are not acting like everything is okay. Like some kind of modern Diogenes.

She has her own business, her own workshop, creating outfits for herself, her husband, and costumers, gets requests from computer game developer companies and other entertainment industries, to create cosplays and/or even get booked to wear them on conventions and even published several books in which you can see step by step the process of making these costumes like a tutorial, giving lots of information what materials and techniques she uses and what materials behave in what way and are not dangerous for your health and so on and so on.
