Every time when I had some money on me, I would buy curry fish balls along with this rice noodle or we call it cheong-fun with mixed sauces. Taste really really good. Bring all those good old memory back.

When I lived in Hong Kong, I used to eat these noodles all the time, near Kimberly Street. I love the peanut sauce on them. The only difference was that they were served on a disposable plate with toothpicks to eat them. I would love to find the recipe so I could make these at home.

The right English name of this food is steam rice roll. Basically, it is vegetarian food but some food stall may add lard. Meanwhile, I also love it. Simple but tasty. However, not all food stall supply it excellent.

when it first enter your mouth, there will be a burst of sesame sauce flavor permeating your mouth. At the same time you'll taste the sweet soy sauce as well as the sweet sauce they put on it the rice noodle. The texture of those noodles will be warm, gooey, and easy to chew, you can probably break it apart with your tongue. As you chew on it, bits of sesame seeds will burst and release more flavour there. There is a sense of calm and comfort as you down one of these plates in the street of hong kong. In the video there are folks who order with no sauce, or just soy sauce, they can customize it to the way they like to have the dish. *edit - some folks call it peanut sauce as well, the lighter sauce will have a nutty flavor for sure.

The secret is the sauce. Makes it sooo delicious. The white rice cakes she is cutting is practically tasteless. Just rice. So the sauces have to be awesome to make this otherwise tasteless dish amazing. She might do better if she added some shrimp or ground pork . like in Malaysia. I think Malaysia and Singapore has the best cuisine in southeast Asia though. And India! Love Indian food too.
