HONG KONG Worst Hotel? CHUNGKING MANSIONS & MIRADOR MANSIONS

We gave Chungking Mansion(forgot the hostel name) a try back in 2017, and our experience wasn't as delightful as we hoped. From the moment we stepped into the building, it was bustling and there's a long line for the lift. When we reached the floor of our stay, the waiting area was a bit small. Upon entering our room, I was taken aback by how tiny the space was, and the divider seemed super thin. You could literally hear people passing by. Unfortunately, our door lacked a double lock, and there wasn't enough room to comfortably open our luggages. While the folks downstairs were kind and approachable, there's a unique atmosphere that didn't quite match our expectations. I found it hard to get a good night's sleep, so we eventually decided to switch to another hotel. That was just our experience and it may not be the same for others. 🙂

Price and location of Chungking Mansion is 100% the best!!!!! We stayed the first time we visited Hong Kong 10 years ago and every time I book a hotel in Hong Kong I always wish I stayed in Chungking because of location. Its close to everything you need. MTR, bus stop, mall, streetfood, shopping, Victoria Harbor. We booked Unique Hostel before. The caretaker is Filipino. There is a que sa lift pero tolerable na man. The rooms are small but to Hong Kong standard its normal. I wouldnt mind staying there again.

May naamoy ba kayo pagpasok? Hindi yung Indian spices smell. Kakain kami dapat sa isang sikat na breakfast place na may branch diyan. Ang bumungad sa amin is yung amoy ipis, hindi na kami tumuloy. Pero yung KSME na money changer maganda yung rates and walang scam.

I was there in Chungking Mansion last May 2024. I am Solo Woman traveller, Manila Hostel name ng pinag stayan ko Filipina ang nasa counter at Indian. Mababait sila actually at accomodating, alisin nyo na ang negative reviews dyan kasi ako mismo napatunayan ko na ok naman pala don, mag isa pa ako ha at babae pa. Maliit nga lang ang space nila sa isang solo room but its ok for me kasi all day ka naman gagala at maliligo at matutulog ka lang naman don eh. Mabait yung Indian na parang Manager nag check out ako hinatid pa ako sa elevator. They are very nice.

hindi po magulo as per experienced ngssipagtrbho lng po mga tao nktmby jn n mga indian at pakstani dont mind them cause aalis k umaga bbalik gbi n pra mtulog lng so i dont so n mgguluhan kau the whole day nsa lbas kau ng galaan. suggest ko din mel pra mafeauture mo s blog mo try to ride top up big bus tour which is only 41.80 lng no need to book pumila lng kau either saan nio gusto mg strting point either central pier or tst near ymca hotel bus H1 or H2

I can say, sa una medyo sketchy lalo ung entrance sa baba kc madaming indians/pakistani, pero once maka usap mo sila suppppeeer friendly nila I swear, nagtatagalog pa yan para lng mka sort of connect sayo. I remember nsa back pocket ng pants ko ung phone ko, sanibihan ako ng indian na wag ko daw dun ilagay kc may mga pick pocket dn sa HK. True enough totoo to sabi ng tita at ate kong ofw sa HK. Saka ung room maliit tlga pero luckily malinis naman ung room ko that time

Been staying in Chungking Mansions several times and a number of days in Mirador. Room size for hostels or guest houses are pretty much the same and the difference with the hostel in Chungking are quite cheaper compare to Mirador, resulting to expect maximum booking reservations. Yet, haven’t got any bad experience with any of the hostels in Chungking and with Mirador, we’ve encountered No booking reservations upon checking-in since our payment arrangement is during arrival or checkin. I do agree that the location of Chungking is indeed, perfect.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Golden Mile during our Hongkong trip last April 2023. Chungking Mansion is just almost beside our hotel. There was once this instance when we passed by Chungking Mansions there were so many policemen, we found out that there was a raid or something. They cordoned the vicinity of Chungking.

My Foreign Exchange shop gives better forex rates than those in Chun King Mansion. The Owner became a friend of mine in 2019 since sa Comfort Guest House ako nag stay pag weekends dahil mahal rates sa big hotels in Kowloon area. Pinay ang caretaker ng Comfort Guest House but meron din sila sa Chun King...comparing MIrador to Chun King, best and Mirador dahil toxic ang Chun King...and maraming pulis lagi sa Chun King dahil marami nahuhuli ang Hong Kong Police dyan....best to choose Mirador Mansion dahil 2016 t0 2019 ako nag stay for the weekends to save money for hotel expenses and usually tulog lang naman....bigger hotel names pag weekdays due to work and business, Ok din ang Unique Hoel sa Mirador Mansion dahil pinay ang caretakers.

Never stay at chunking mansion at all. It’s a bad experienced although it’s cheap and accessible to everything. But never going back. Now I have experienced, i will pay more with hotel with decent bed. That’s my opinion.

base as an ofw here in hk. i been booking some friends and relatives in chunking which no hussle and prblem advantage maybe im the one who checked and view all the rooms before i booked. so mkkita tlga anong klase ng room kya i dont think so.lht ng rooms s chunking ay worst kung budgeted trip oks lng mgstay at kung my budget why npt go to 4 or 5star hotel kya sometimes lht nkpgstay chunking they are generalizing lht ng rooms jn ay panget which is not.

1st recommendable sa block C Tom's guesthouse which the lift connected to BlockD all caretakers and cleaners are pinay also can reheat your food because they have kitchen. 2nd dragon hotel block B and the room is clean and the owner is approachable and kind. 3rd superguesthouse also ok. 4th is block B leung ching house guesthouse and there's a lot n.guesthouse na inquire ko n ok yun room at malinis mga pinay ang staff ngllinis. United cooperative hotel

Nakapag check in ako dyan sa Chunking. Ang pinaka ayaw ko dyan is yung elevator. 15mins paakyat 15mins pababa. Hahahaha pila talaga! Maximum of 6 pa ata kung mataba ka baka 5 lang. 😅
