Imagine living so long that you saw everybody you knew die, fought countless wars and always lost in the end, being betrayed by the person you believed the most, having so much memories ravaging your mind that you must ablate a part of them to not go insane, and finally realizing after 50 000 years of endless war that your mission is a failure, and that you are becoming the very thing you swore to destroy.

This comment made me realize what the title "Shattered Samsara" might mean. The 'samsara' is the cycle of life, death, and rebirth in Buddhism. In this fight, Fu Hua's 'samsara', her constant loss, failure, and betrayal throughout her life is finally 'shattered' by Kiana, who goes back to save her, which seems to be her first happy ending.

@@chuchuchu0511 She is a Previous Era MANTIS. This is explored and explained in the chapters leading up to this short, as well as Honkai's complementary mangas. In the Previous Era (PE), humanity was extremely technologically advanced, so they conducted experiments to create super soldiers to fight against the Honkai. MANTIS are people who have their genes combined with Honkai Beasts to become superhumans basically. Though the humans of PE lost, Fu Hua and a few others from PE were able to enter cryogenic sleep and awoke a few thousand years ago. However, not all PE humans are MANTIS, so Fu Hua's been alone for a very long time and it's really depressing lol

@Jan Krixtian this is actually a good move for both Fu Hua and Kiana's arc. Fu Hua had to content being alone by taking off her memories over and over but Kiana accepted her as friend even after the betrayal. For Kiana she finally able to save someone after losing two important people in her life

So huarrscher was always part of Fu Hua, the part that thought she was a loser, that didnt want to be the guardian anymore, who wanted to do whatever she wanted. It will always be part of Fu Hua in one way or another, even if she got an operation to remove the gem and the personality, the memories, thoughts and feelings that created the Herrscher personality is still part of her. But perhaps dealing with those issues, proving to be stronger than your own negative side puts it at rest... Mihoyo need to give us more information on how it work.

Most important. Kiana was betrayed by Fuhua. I always hated how people completely ignored the fact that fuhua always knew and was working with Otto to capture Kiana and ennact Otts plan. Until the last moment before she was shot she was with Otto. It was then Fuhua realize the error of her actions and went on a path to heal Kiana and herself in the process. That completely made me like Fuhua. Fuhua-Kiana tag team chapters are great,unlike what they with Mei and the whole "herrscher" world serpent thing. Mihoyo made me dislike Mei and Like Fuhua. Unbelievable.

Yes, and no. I want a "Kiana in Charge" outfit for HoV. I would also like a "summon skirt" outfit for HoV. I don't mind if we have to spend money to get them. More than anything, I want HoV to break the norms and get an augment core to make it more in line with the cutscene version, such as ideal fluid block slams for an ultimate dodge, machine gunning subspace lances when in her temporary super mode and this Not-Excalibur attack as its ultimate.

It can't be blocked but with some miracle, Kiana's Eminence somehow beat its stronger version from HoS and I still question that. This means that two Taixuan Eminences can fight each other so they can actually be blocked. But even it's possible then idk how did HoS lose to Kiana. Guess that's some plot armor for her. Another explanation I think of is because HoS's Eminence isn't as "clean" as Kiana's since she is a herrscher which makes her Taixuan Eminence is not complete, that's my guess

I just realized something. Notice how Kiana's reaction just changed so suddenly when Fu Hua said she would sacrifice herself to seal away HoS because it was her mission? Now remember back to when Kiana told Mei in Lament of The Fallen that she was also willing to sacrifice herself to save the world because it was her fate. Kiana finally understands that the guilt that lead to her sense of duty was the reason why Mei had to leave her, and hence when Fu Hua decides to leave to seal HoS away forever she realizes that Fu Hua will also lose those close to her due to her sense of duty. This is my understanding as to why Kiana was so desperate to save Fu Hua and why her reaction was so great when Fu Hua told her "it was her duty"

A perfect blend of happiness and tragedy, and the way the story is put together is practically seamless. When players are playing this game, it feels as though they're in the game itself, playing the game through so many POVs, and yet miHoYo still manages to bring everything together in a way that isn't sloppy or rushed. And they even managed to bring out such heartfelt emotions from virtual characters to the players. miHoYo truly is, an elite amongst elites in what they do.

I hope we all realize just how hard the words "It's my mission" hit Kiana. Its the same words that she said to Mei about overworking herself to protect everyone. She realizes that she's a hypocrite in trying to fulfil her own mission while stopping others from doing there's out of selfishness. I think this can be a moment of growth for Kiana in which she finds a balance between duty and personal feelings

Hypocrite or not, it's not like Kiana is gonna stop trying to fulfill her mission. Kiana's ultimate mission if to save the world from the Honkai, and you better believe she's gonna keep working to fulfill that mission. She's gonna keep fighting and risking her life. Nothing has changed in that regard. All she learned here is a better understanding of how Mei was feeling back when she left but that doesn't really change anything.

@@AzureRoxe Well, the reason Kiana didn't want people to help her is that she was feeling guilty over getting possessed by Sirin and killing Himeko. It's not like Kiana was full of herself and thought she could do it all alone. She was just afraid she would end up causing yet another precious friend to die all over again. And this hasn't changed. I don't think understanding Mei's feelings would suddenly make Kiana feel less guilty. So she probably still won't like people to help her out if she can help it. That will only change with she gets over her guilt. And that probably will only happen when she confronts Sirin.

ok looks like some of you dont understand what i mean. i'm talking about their intensions here, not their action. while mei's action and kiana's action are different, they are of the same intention, not wanting the person they care for die a needless death. let me explain. back in "lament of the fallen", when mei ask kiana why she would willingly go through all of the missions despite knowing that she's gonna die eventually, basically sacrificing herself, kiana answers with "this is my mission". and this visibly upsets mei and kiana doesnt understand why she's upset. now, in "shattered samsara", fu hua wants to sacrifice herself to stop HoS and kiana is now in mei's shoes, not wanting fu hua to die needlessly, and now she's the one asking why. and when fu hua replies with "this is my mission" the same exact reply that kiana gave to mei, kiana felt upset and now understands why mei was upset before. so in short. mei doesnt want kiana to die needlessly and leave behind the people that loves her but at the time, kiana doesnt understand that consequences. now, kiana felt the same thing as mei, not wanting fu hua to die needlessly, leaving behind the people loves her and so she finally understands what mei felt back then.
