That Maple Leaf Rag has a few stylistic touches very similar to the Slugger Ryan version, giving more weight to the idea that it was Dick Hyman playing it.

Thanks. I've had this intuition about that MLR for nearly three decades. Hyman did not specifically remember, but noted that it could have been, since this was one of the tracks used to pad out the first 12" version of the record.
